Many people will quietly admit they did it not for their health, not because they thought it was good for them or for others, but simply for convenience, or simply to avoid inconvenience.

Then they are baffled, sometimes even angry, when you don't do it.

Vaccines/ Boosters for kids were pushed 'so we don't transmit to grandma.' Now that the vaxxed are catching and transmitting omicron, the new rational is 'vax was always meant to prevent severe cases.' In that case, why are we still vaccinating kids? or Healthy people for that matter?

They literally have just borrowed the military-industrial complex marketing strategy; fear based sales through "government" led propaganda. Covid-19 is the new terrorist, hidden, except on television etc. but waiting to kill you at all times, so you best comply fearful citizens.

It's curious that businesses are telling people to take sides. Which pretty much cuts off potential customers. Why would a business tell people they don't want their business like that?

Thinking about it for a second, considering how few people get sick from food safety issues, one really could ask if they are following those, too. Those are very minor compared to COVID.

They are catching a cold, literally.

A business only takes a side when it has calculated the expected value as positive. So, Hobby Lobby goes all in derp and their popularity among their customer base of conservative brood sows spikes, while they lose all the educated liberals who never shopped there anyway cuz, you know, jobs and an identity outside of being a baby delivery system.

Businesses with liberal clientele do it too. Ben & Jerry went all in as a "good guy" brand for exactly the same motivation.

A business is a machine for moving money from a customer to an owner. It doesn't have any politics, it just has a consumer landscape which dictates how it will market itself.
