What I find interesting (and maybe this is better fleshed out in the Business thread) is how every talking head discussing the market continues to stress that the market is a look ahead and a gamble on the future, depending on how the tea leaves fall.

Yet, so many from the current administration are using the markets as a thermometer for their *current* condition.

The markets didn't nosedive in February/March because of what Trump did/didn't do. They nosedived because his in/activity didn't show future leadership. I guess in that regard it did act as a thermometer, but not how this administration thought.

It took three separate tries by the Fed to inject liquidity into the markets before the bottom was found. Even then, the markets leveled at the bottom in spite of the Fed, and it wasn't until New York State started to peak that the market responded accordingly.

President Kong is going to continue to ride the market for the wrong reasons.

I stopped reading after it said people are labelled "kooks" for questioning the narrative. **** the author and his stupid opinions. The people who questioned arent called "kooks" for questioning...they are called "kooks" because they are so stupid it defies imagination.

You need to read better sources...

And yet they're opening up. We have not ticked ONE single box yet that says we can open the doors on anything. Yet, we're doing it anyway. I also saw this morning that Florida has been lying about how many deaths they're having in Nursing Homes.

I am Shocked

Problems immediately emerged with what was released. For example, more than a month ago, administrators at the 180-bed Atria Willow Wood ALF in Fort Lauderdale confirmed that at least six residents had died of COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus. But the chart released Friday includes only three resident deaths as confirmed, while three remained “under investigation.”

Other elements of the data raised eyebrows. One nursing home in the Panhandle, the 210-bed Southern Oaks Care Center, was reported to have had three resident deaths — though recent data from health administrators showed 94 residents of the Pensacola home had been infected. That would mean that 3 percent of the home’s residents who contracted the disease succumbed to it. Based on previous data, 40 percent to 50 percent of long-term care residents infected with the virus die.

Good god...that is some next level cover up there. Thankfully it is completely offset by the fact that everyone involved with that clown is so friggin stupid they can barely tie their own shoes.

That was the same line that got me. In no way should people be giving nonsense conspiracy theories legitimacy.

Lakewood, California. Population 80,140


A post WW-II planned community, Lakewood saw 17,500 houses built in the three year period between late 1949 and 1953 on open land just east and north of Long Beach. (For reference, the 2010 Census shows 27,470 housing units in the 9.74 square mile city.)

In 1993, nine high school aged boys, supposed members of the Spur Posse who gained points for their sexual pursuits, were arrested for alleged rape and lewd conduct. Charges against eight were later dropped.

Lakewood is the home of the first Denny's restaurant.

To try to lighten this thread briefly....

I remembered today that I really suck at sewing. Tried to make some masks with pockets, and it just went badly the whole way- it took me 4 tries until I even got close at making one decent. The first two attempts failed on the first try at a weaving pattern. And I have no idea how to properly run a sewing machine- so many times the thread got taken out of the needle as I was just starting.

But I managed to make them, I guess. If I have to do this again, I need a way to draw on the cloth, even when I don't have chalk or something like that. Then I can do actual straight line.
