Cornell Big Red @ Brown Bears

Did the Brown band show up? No excuse for students not to be there. No parking can't be the excuse for them. Cornell and Brown have had a great rivalry through the years.

Band is there, students are not. Much easier to tell this year, now that they've moved the student section to the side opposite the camera!

Re: Cornell Big Red @ Brown Bears

This is pretty much to go-to when supposedly superior teams are losing at Meehan. You'd be surprised at how little of an effect atmosphere has on games.

Of course as a long-time member of the Lynah Faithful, I totally disagree. Back in my day when you had to get to the rink two hours in advance to get a seat and the crowd was LOUD, it was worth at least a goal a game. Now when folks straggle in during the 1st period, not so much; but it's the absence of atmosphere that makes it not a factor.

As a 50 Year Brown fan, I remember in the 60's lining up outside Faunce Hall, the then Student Union early in the afternoon to get tickets. When I was at Lynah a few years ago, the excitement/crowd brought back memories of Brown hockey in the 60's.

Re: Cornell Big Red @ Brown Bears

Much better period for Cornell and somewhat worse for Brown. However, for the most part Brown has not made the egregious defensive giveaways that Cornell did in the 1st, which resulted in the 3 Brown goals.

Re: Cornell Big Red @ Brown Bears

Shots in the 2d: Cornell 9, Brown 5. I think the shots in the two periods pretty well reflect the quality of play of the teams in those periods.

Re: Cornell Big Red @ Brown Bears

Lappin penalty. Cornell PP. 18:34 left in 3d.

Penalty killed. Cornell only got one good shot on goal.

16:00 left in 3d.

Brown 3, Cornell 2.
