Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

One of the cops who killed Floyd (the one who wanted him flipped over and supposedly did CPR) was confronted at a grocery store. (the one I shop at and worked at years ago) While I hope the guy spends the rest of his life in jail for now he is out on bail leave him be. He will get his. Publicly shaming him and harassing him is not going to bring justice and likely will only make things worse.

If the Dems blow this one, I will absolutely place the majority of the blame on those of you pushing the "abolish/defund the police" slogan. It's a self inflicted wound that could easily be replaced by other slogans.

If they blow it, there will have to have been a reason, and I suspect it will be because people in the middle turned on the protests and the ideals of the protests. And yes, that notion would be aided if people pay too much attention to slogans designed to garner attention. That's the problem with slogans. As my union members in Ohio used to remind me every day, words matter.

How about "Re-Imagine The Police"? I would assume other than the anarchists or fascists among us, that is what the rest of us actually mean.

Well seeing as most of the Dem candidates dont support the idea (including Biden) I am not sure you would have the right windmill to tilt at. But you do you.

Don't worry, I never say "Abolish the police" to the burbs. I say "we need to have a serious conversation about the rules and oversight of the use of deadly force," which makes them assume they will have to change nothing, same as always.

And then on Inauguration Day we'll send fiddy million Inner City Utes into every white Lutheran church to have their way with those virginal daughters.

I don't think it'll harm Biden himself since a re-election campaign is simply a referendum on the incumbent. I do think it can harm the down ballot races including the Senate. Doesn't matter if the argument is legitimate or not, doesn't matter that it's shorthand for a myriad of underlying policy changes, fact remains that when you say "abolish the police," a majority of Americans react negatively. And it's also attached to the Democrats, as the more liberal of the two major parties, whether an individual candidate supports it or not.

Yeah you are way behind...I have been posting his tweets since the protesting began. :-) He is a bit hyperbolic but the videos are awful.

Don't draw attention to it, though. It might spook those Centrist Voters we're always just on the verge of getting.

Here is an interesting, although probably irrelevant fact.

In Derek Chauvin's divorce, his wife is listed as formerly known as Kellie Thao. The Hmong cop among the four charged in Floyd's death is Tao Thao. I wonder if there is a relationship there.
