Cops 9: You Are What Now?

Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

Here is a scary thought. If you are not repulsed by what you have seen from trump and in many cases the police in the last week, that likely means you think the response from authorities should be even MORE violent.

I'm reminded of old archival news coverage I saw following the Kent State massacre. It may have been in the Burn's documentary on the Viet Nam war. A woman, when asked if she felt the Ohio National Guard was justified when they shot into protesters and killed 4 (some who weren't even protesting, just walking to classroom buildings), responded that they should have shot more of them.

This is the America we live in. Yes, trump and his elected republican enablers are the enemy. They must be removed. But they aren't there without the support of millions upon millions of Americans. The cop who uses violence against a peaceful protester is my enemy. The cop who kills an unarmed black man who is not threatening anyone is my enemy. trump is my enemy. But what is the American who will vote his or her approval of all of this by casting a ballot for trump in the fall? Or for Mitch McConnell. Or for Jim Jordan or Devin Nunes?

That vote doesn't just signal that they want me to pay some of the taxes they don't want to pay. That vote doesn't just signal that they don't care if I can't pay for healthcare or a safer place to live because they got theirs and I should reach for my bootstraps. That vote signals they are OK with violence. That vote says they either don't understand, or worse yet are happy for, their white privilege. To me that signals that they too are my enemy. I hope I can find the means to accept that in a healthy and helpful way. I hope that my vote is all that I will need to fight back.

"One third will kill another third, while one third watches."

The murderous third is the Republicans, conservatives, reactionaries, fascists, Dumpies, deplorables, authoritarians, whatever you want to call them.

The murdered third are POC, LGBTQ, Muslims -- the Other scapegoat righties must always blame for their failures.

The indifferent third is... us. It's up to us to kill the Nazis because when the targeted third tries to resist the cops beat the living tar out of them and the media and corporations tut tut about violence.

So it's up to us to kill Nazis. How we do it is actually kinda immaterial, as long as we do it.

Kill the right; save the world.

Does anyone understand the strategy of the police putting all their resources into harassing the peaceful protesters while the looters go nuts on the other side of town? It completely baffles me.

"The torture isn't a tactic, it's the point."

These people never assimilated into America. For as long as they have been here -- some for 400 years -- they have been an insular, inbred community with their own customs and values. They aren't Americans. They are part of a global authoritarian substrata that goes back to Sumeria, halfway between ape and man.

DC Archbishop statement on Trump's planned visit to Saint John Paul II National Shrine:

I find it baffling and reprehensible that any Catholic facility would allow itself to be so egregiously misused and manipulated in a fashion that violates our religious principles, which call us to defend the rights of all people even those with whom we might disagree.

I know this is an ad hominem attack on the evangelical community, but it's really too bad that the overwhelming majority of them are too stupid to see that trump is using Christianity to further his evil goals. He is an evil man, surrounded by other evil men, and their stupidity allows him to exploit their actual real, heart-felt beliefs for his evil gains.

Let's just say it's not a surprise that if you fell for one you're gonna fall for the other.

The republicans WANT this. They do not want the violence and destruction to stop. They don't care how many businesses are looted and destroyed. The more the better. The republicans would be disappointed, and greatly so, if the protesters all marched and chanted peaceably, and then went home.

Steph Curry's free throw percentage on the road is over 90%. No matter how much people yell and waive their arms and shout air ball. He's gonna make at least 9 of every 10. Sometimes I think the home crowd should just be utterly silent when an opposing player is shooting a free throw. Let them hear the breaths of the other 9 players. It would throw them off. Maybe the protests need to do that. Just be silent for an hour and then turn around and go home way before they're expecting you to. I guarantee the cops and the republicans would not know what to make of it, and would be sorry their were no heads to crack.

Yes it makes the protesters look bad...and it allows the cops to put in the least amount of work to make it look like they are doing a bang up job. Problem is this isnt the 1960s everyone has a camera.

The comments...(sorry if this has already been posted)

The FBI is seeking information and digital media depicting individuals inciting violence during First Amendment protected peaceful demonstrations: https://t.co/VF1ahjWVqFhttps://t.co/Ad8bK617er
— FBI (@FBI) June 1, 2020

Jesus...the temerity of that tweet is only beat by the amazing (and terrible to watch) responses.

edit:

1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ Los Angeles, CA: LAPD officers beat the sh*t out of several unarmed peaceful protestors for sport, while other cops in the pack shoot them at close range

pic.twitter.com/82B0Yo7eqn
— T. But remember the protesters/looters are as responsible for the death of George Floyd as the cops. The LAPD can die i a fire and there is almost zero chance their current Mayor wins re-election.

Ben Sasse would like you to know he is sorta concerned about what Trump did yesterday...

Remember when people thought he was The Smart One?

Well...technically he still could be ;) I mean if his IQ is in the middle double digits he is in the upper 25% easy :p

I remember when people thought Duncan Hunter was someone to listen to

Re: Cops 9: You Are What Now?

It seems the new tactic is to block the protesters from leaving before curfew so they can arrest them as curfew hits. Cops truly are American Heroes...

I know everyone was enamored with the Atlanta Police Chief the other day...since then her cops have gone off the deep end.
