The CNN reporters have not been bad. The desk jockeys are worthless or worse.

Re: Cops 8: I Am Out Of Here...

If things continue to escalate, it is almost certainly not a bluff. The Insurrection Act of 1807 gives the president the authority to use the military in these exact circumstances. Riots in 1967 in Detroit, after the King assassination in 1968 and again in Los Angeles in 1992 all had federal troops in the streets.

MPs or actual armed forces, without Congress approval? (I'm really asking)

I thought the guy standing among the burning cars was excusing the police behavior a little too much. I mean he was bringing up that those nasty protesters were using foul language! Oh MY STARS!

Frankly I thought the behavior of the police in those scenes was indefensible and a whole bunch of cops were lucky they didn't ignite violence of unimaginable proportions. The crowd of protesters showed remarkable restraint and that it looks like the damage was focused only on police vehicles is almost a miracle.

Re: Cops 8: I Am Out Of Here...

If you are breaking the law, and are arrested, you cede certain things, and information on ties to extremist organizations, whether it be White Nationalists or Antifa*, is one of those things.

*there is anti-fascist, and then there is Antifa. Much like there is conservative, and then there is MAGA.

Neither you nor anyone else in this country has broken the law until convicted. Officer Chauvin may disagree.

MPs are armed military forces so not sure what you mean by that. But at any rate I'm talking any military. Elements of the 82nd and 101st Airborne spent 2 days in Detroit. Army troops of the 7th Infantry from up north and 1st Division Marines from down the road in San Diego were in the streets of LA in 1992. Congress has zero to do with it. The Act (and the Posse Commitatus act along with it) are designed to LIMIT the power of the president to deploy federal military forces on American soil, not prevent it. Local authorities have to begin the process.

Yeah, smashing women with a baton is not okay.

Fine, that part is conceded. But public info is public info. If I randomly type a person's name onto Facebook, I can find some info. It's not violating any search law. It's out there. It's public record (for lack of a better term). Can I get cell phone records? No. Can I get DMs/etc? No.

MSNBC guest points out that every extremist murder over the last year has been right wing. The Antifa canard is just a GOP deflection from the white nationalists who support them. Those are the terrorists, and cop violence is just an extension of right wing violence into the law enforcement realm.

Re: Cops 8: I Am Out Of Here...

I'd kinda like to see somebody throw a flash grenade into the studio. They treat it in passing like it's nothing.

CNN was hilarious last night when they made a big deal over a cop flash grenade that was thrown by the protesters back at the cops, as if that was an act of violence.

They literally never caught themselves in awareness of their hypocrisy.

Well, Grover is nuts. He needs the banhammer. And no worries on the saying of anything. I honor Jup's rules, and only post the facts I hear without opinion on stuff like this.

And DGF: The Posse Comitatus Act outlaws the willful use of any part of the Army or Air Force to execute the law unless expressly authorized by the Constitution or an act of Congress.

Sounds like a job for the Space Force.

Philly about to burn...and the world cheers ;)

Did the Eagles win a Madden tournament?

Yeah, we should not be giving any oxygen at all to the Antifa canard. For every 1 Antifa doofus who is being violent or destructive just for reasons, there are hundreds of white supremacists doing the same things. The CNNs of the world do the same thing with it they do with climate change. 99.9% of scientists know climate change is real and is affected by humans to at least some extent. 0.1% do not. So let's have one scientist from each side debate it. Same thing with extremest violent leftists and fascists. The violence is almost exclusively started by the right. It is sad that millions of Americans fall so easily into the trap.
