Re: Conspiracy Theory Du Jour

300,000,000 people and this is the choice.

Federalist 10:

In the first place, it is to be remarked that, however small the republic may be, the representatives must be raised to a certain number, in order to guard against the cabals of a few; and that, however large it may be, they must be limited to a certain number, in order to guard against the confusion of a multitude. Hence, the number of representatives in the two cases not being in proportion to that of the two constituents, and being proportionally greater in the small republic, it follows that, if the proportion of fit characters be not less in the large than in the small republic, the former will present a greater option, and consequently a greater probability of a fit choice.

James Madison was talking about a nation of 3,929,214, of whom about 200,000 were eligible to hold public office. He figured with a pool of fifth of a million potential candidates, there would be no lack of great people to fill all elective offices.

About 150 million Americans are eligible for the presidency this year.

I think Madison owes us an apology.

Clinton at least is awful by our normal standards of awful.

I'm not kidding: I would select ANY member of this Forum to serve instead of Trump. Hear that, FlagDUDE? I suggest you put on a tie.

Re: Conspiracy Theory Du Jour

Medical protocol? Sure.

But, they broke the Secret Service protocol of what to do with a protectee if the protectee goes down, unless Chelsea has had a Level I trauma center put into her condo. (Have to check the Clinton Family Foundation to see if they've done that.)
I can't speak for SS protocol but I can say as a medical person that if that is the protocol it is just plain dumb. I could understand if the protocol was for unexplained syncopal episode but far as I can tell she didn't lose consciousness. Maybe I am wrong. Most medical protocols are not rigid and rely on assessing the situation. Not being a SS I can't say how rigid thier protocols are. I can't imagine it would be realistic for them t be completely rigid.

Not defending the H so much as commenting on the silliness perpetuated with all of the hyping of minutia regarding anything and the absolute lack of real journalism or fact finding. Every election there is some foolish conspiracy with medical things but they usually don't get this much traction with so little evidence or evidence being summarily dismissed

Wow. One of our staff told me last week that Chelsea's apartment is registered with the NYS Department of Health as a surgical center.

Don't ask me where he got that from.

Re: Conspiracy Theory Du Jour

Come on. If you're going to put that out there you also have to link to the Hillary impersonator theory also.

The theories that she has Parkinson's are really starting to spread much more widely than ever. I'm more than a bit surprised, it seems like it is moving beyond the wacko fringe elements and becoming slightly more respectable to voice it out loud....

The letter released by her doctor gives lots of detail about stuff that doesn't really matter and says nothing at all to address the question on "everyone's" mind.

If she has to cancel next Monday's debate for medical reasons, big if, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Bring a six-pack and plenty of popcorn!

PS: here is what the New York State Department of Health has to say about Metrocare Home Health Services, Inc. It WAS listed at the address in the article posted earlier by SteveP....

METROCARE HOME SERVICES, INC.
21 East 26th Street, 4th Fl
New York, NY 10010

Note: This facility is closed or has merged with another facility. Information here is maintained for historical purposes only.

Here is the Yellow Pages listing, I did not dial the number.....http://www.yellowpages.com/new-york-ny/mip/metrocare-home-svc-inc-6996015 I'll let one of Her Highness' avid defenders do that so that they can triumphantly report they have debunked this rumor!!

There is something almost ghoulish about this whole situation, for some reason it seems like maybe Dorian Gray is finally getting a look at his picture and doesn't like it very much....

That would be bad. Worse? A literal misstep in front of the cameras.

Part of me hopes Hillary looks calm and cool but goes on one "what does it matter!" rant and Donald breaks a bead in a big way but stays in "campaign Donald*" mode.

*Not to be confused with "twitter Donald", "apprentice Donald", or "primaries speech Donald" modes.

I'm half-expecting the "moderator" to aggressively challenge Trump (the media collectively fired a warning shot across Lester Holt's bow, so to speak, given how badly they trashed Matt Lauer last week!). and for Trump to reply, "hey, who am I supposed to be debating, you or her?"

That sound bite will win the night

Re: Conspiracy Theory Du Jour

No it won't. The moderator isn't running for student council like the last one. He'll have a response specifically prepared for that question.

Why would one need a level 1 trauma center to evaluate syncope?

So, what exactly do they want to have in the letter? Not sarcastic. Serious question. The Doc submitted a medical summary. It stated what medical diagnosis she has, what meds she is taking, detailed her past history and said she was fit. Fit means fit. If there were mitigating factors they would be in the history. Med hx don't document the lack of every possible disease. If it did that you would be here til next week. Parkinson's wouldn't enter into the summary unless there was some neuro work up and Parkinsons was ruled out. The Doc's did the job correctly. This isn't reality TV or some soap opera. What have we come to that we expect a medical professional to pander to the wacko media and crazies instead of acting like a professionaL?.

I obviously missed something. What sx are they saying she has that are supposed to be making people believe she has Parkinson's? All I can think of is the patient I had a few yrs ago that came in with 'Lupus' because they had one little symptom. The guy was distraught. We went on Web MD together when he was in the office and sure enough it said possible Lupus. It wasn't even close.

Because they are stupid? No true LOC. She wobbled and got into the car. If they want a full eval for that they are idiots. I can't see any protocol that would seriously ask for that unless someone not medical decided they had a medical degree. (wouldn't be the first time)

Now if we want conspiracy- we ask how much pseudoDoc Oz was paid to ask things the right way and gloss over Trump not releasing a real med summary. If we look at his track record he must know something is wrong. After all a large majority of things he has sworn were legit on his show have been debunked by research. :D
