Congrats to BU - 2011 Beanpot Champions

Re: Congrats to BU - 2011 Beanpot Champions

With the results of this year's "BU Invitational" (aka the Beanpot) all but decided, now would be a good time to congratulate the BU players and fans on their win over #1 BC tonight and Harvard/NU next Monday night as well.

The rest of the country will celebrate Grounddog Day, the 2nd Tuesday of February, the day when traditionally BU's season ends unofficially, in due time. But for now, we will let the dogs have their day in the sun and congratulate them on their national championship. Much like the Lombardi Trophy returns home to Green Bay today, the Beanpot returns to where it "belongs" next Monday night and BC fans everywhere appreciate the BU fans letting us "borrow" it for the past year.

CONGRATS TO BU!

Whoops!

Looks like Grounddog Day is coming a week early this year. Everyone enjoy it tomorrow.

I will only believe what I believe you are insinuating if you post a thread congratulating Northeastern as well.

Why? Wouldn't you rather see NU win vs CHCC? I believe a CHCC Congrats thread is in order! (I'm not starting it...)

Well, if we're all trying to take credit here, I think I should get a little of it. No way that penalty on Ruikka would have been called if Jack hadn't spent a good portion of his ref payoff money last week to suspend Diamond. A penalty in OT???? Seriously???

He's a little short of cash this year what with paying off Joe Bertagna to suspend Joey Diamond last week. The timing of that Maine series seriously put a dent in BU's chances this year. You guys may actually squeak this game out this year.

:)

No kidding! Jack didn't even try to dispute it!

He didn't throw any players under the bus after the game either! I guess he's running out of kids to do this with since he keeps kicking them off the team. Kind of disappointing when reading the papers this morning. I did say to my wife, I think I could watch the entire game on a Jack Parker isocam and just listen to the play by play to get an idea of what is going on. Although he was pretty mellow behind that bench last night.

I was happy to see that BU didn't dive nearly as much as the previous 3 games, though. I generally have never seen that from BU before in prior season.

You can't take credit for that.
Obviously the funds were available, given the borderline back to back calls in the third. It ain't the refs fault your team sucks and couldn't deliver. ;) :p

The OT penalty you say? No doubt that call was going against S. Whitney... until your guy whacked him and Whitney sold the hell out of it. :D

I was sitting three rows behind the BU bench last night and Parker was the tamest I have ever seen him. Did not raise his voice in anger towards the team all night from what I saw. He only seemed to dispute one call all night and the discussion was tame by JP standards.

Well, I have a feeling Parker will be asking Ruuka to attend an "optional workout" while he's in a final exam soon if you know what I mean...;)
