Conference Playoff Info

Grace Kuipers' goal 4 minutes into the 2nd has Princeton up on Harvard after two.

‘Kato beats UMD 3-1. Burke stonewalled the Dogs.

I'm very happy for the Mavs. Most wins in a season for Mankato are 16 in 03-04 and 06-07. This gives them 15 for this year. I don't think they will win tomorrow but I think they have a decent chance.

Yale scores the first three goals of the first period and hangs on for a 3-2 win, eliminating the Saints.

Princeton up on Harvard, 3-1, late in the third.

MSU rallies to force OT in Duluth.

All three games end 3-2. Princeton yields one late goal, but not a second and advances. Giguere strikes in OT for the Bulldogs.

A rather strange situation this coming weekend, where eight teams are still competing in the ECAC and WCHA, but of those, only Princeton looks to be playing for its NCAA Tournament life. I wouldn't think this will be the new normal in an 11-team field, but I guess we'll find out.

Northeastern has created an amazing program. After looking at their record & schedule, I see they swept Cornell, a good team, which finished about .500. Other than that, I’m wondering how they’ll fare in the NCAA tournament against tough ECAC/WCHA teams. Their schedule was very HE-heavy.

Not sure why people seemed surprised that Northeastern looks good. There were one bounce of the puck ( or maybe one great backcheck by LaMantia) away from being national champions last year. And with COVID extra years, probably didn't lose much to graduation, etc.

No chance they win the NCAA tourney. When they run into OSU, MN or even struggling WI, they will lose.

UCONN with a bit of a surprise win over Vermont 3-1. Northeastern had little trouble with Maine, that game also ending in a 3-1 win.

Northeastern kind of does that, hard to tell if it's A Thing or if merely a team that has higher aspirations being a bit flat and looking ahead to chasing them in the NCAA tournament.

That said, not sure how much trouble opening a 29-10 shot attempts advantage, scoring the first two goals, and ending shots on goal at 41-13 really is.

Thus, the poster saying, "... had little trouble ..." as opposed to, "... had a little trouble ..."
