- The first period was fast paced. Action up and down the ice with one powerplay for each team.
- The Nanooks scored on an unscreened slapshot that easily beat Joe Howe. That's the second "long distance" goal Howe has allowed this season.
- The Tigers are struggling to get any kind of offense going. Hats off to Fairbanks after one period, they're defense is excellent.

I watched on TV and listened to parts of the CC radio broadcast here in the Springs.

A day removed from the game, I have to give UA-F full credit. They are a great team and I hope they make the NCAA tournament at the end of the season. They had some of the best defense that I've seen in a while. They could easily be a top 6 WCHA team. It's a shame we have UA-Anchorage... I would trade for Fairbanks to be in our league in a heart beat.

CC just couldn't get any good shots off which is frustrating when the past few weeks we've seen them get prolific chances. Once again, that's due to the strong Nanook Defense. Hopefully the two teams meet again in the future. Also, the building UA-F plays in looks like an exciting venue for a hockey game. I hope to make it up there someday to watch a Nanook game.
