Continue debating the merits of having women in your schools first class here. ;):p

50% women in the first Idaho graduating class. Of 4. 1896. (Young, but Idaho was a state all of one year before Idaho became a university.

Although, far more important, historically, to this thread, Idaho beat Washington State for the first football game in 1893.

Evidently they also did it with an all-gay football team.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well, it is the mountain west. And supposedly Sheep are nervous. At least that's what they kept telling us.

I didn't know that Cornell had Dish Washing as a major back in the day.

Re: College Football IV: The Hand over Fist Cash Grab Time, or Bowl Season for short.

Yes but it was Cornell, so you had to learn to do the dishes in latin, with 12 more steps than you actually need, all while sticking your nose up at anyone else who does dishes because they didnt learn to do them at Cornell!

That's Princeton. At Cornell you had to wash dishes on skates in a snowstorm. And your hand dryer was a cow.

BTW, Cornell is the only Ivy whose motto is in English.

Wow that is complete BS. More reason to hate the ****ing Big 10, and all BCS conferences, actually.

Hate if you like, but realize that their position is about business. The BCS conferences create all the value in football. They have the fans, they draw the eyeballs, and right now they control most of the money. You're going to have to provide a more compelling argument than "it's not fair!!!" to get them to switch.

Nothing very surprising there. Just maybe it's actually being said publicly instead of just thought.

I read, too, that the BCS schools are claiming that THEY were the ones who built the bowl games into money makers, and that this "championship" thing was an addition to the system. They want to keep the money that they have worked to generate with the bowls, and if small schools/conferences keep asking for more, they will just go back to the old bowl system that does not allow any access to any of the large bowls if you are not a BCS member.

So far, the only teams that have been able to work with that "idea" are Utah (Pac10) and TCU (Big East). The rest of the BCS busters (BYU, BSU, Hawaii- anyone else?) have not been given access to any BCS conference.

It's not surprising, but it is interesting that BCS schools are basically smaking down the non.

They're called "asset-athletes" for a reason.

Oh, wait. They're called "student-athletes".

Can't wait until these social values percolate down to the high schools. There's money to be made.

Delany's a real-world football Lex Luthor. Friggin' evil genius. Comes up with new ways to make more $ for his cabal, convinces the idiot head of the Big XII to vote against a +1 last time around with the B10 and P10 to shoot it down against the ACC/SEC/BE, then turns around and rips Nebraska away and almost singlehandedly destroys the house of cards that the Big XII was.

Um, have you seen HS football in Texas? Those "values" are already there. HS football is big business in Texas.

You'd think these massive federally funded land grant schools would have a class where someone would explain the myth of Pandora's box.
