College Football 2024

Troy Taylor out at Stanford. Investigations popping out about bullying and being abusive to female staff members. Going 6-18 with losses to Sac State and SJSU certainly didn't help keep him around. Not exactly sure what coaches are left at this point. I'm assuming Andrew Luck becomes interim coach for a season; I'm not saying it's remotely a good idea, I'm just saying it happens.

They have time to get a new coach. Luck could be interim until then. Unless there are no choices.
 
Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava decided to hold out of practice this week looking for a rumored 4 million dollar NIL deal, roughly 50% more than his current 2.7M deal. Tennessee called his bluff and said they would be moving on at the QB slot and he's now expected to enter the portal. Since then it's been reported that he was barely adhering to the original NIL deal with basic things like autograph signings.

There is some depth to this story and is a fun watch from afar...

Apparently Dan Lanning at Oregon made a phone call to UT to let them know that Iamaleava was checking the temp with other schools. So it sounds like he was actively conspiring to get a deal somewhere else while also pressuring UT.

Gotta admit that the Wild West nature of the NIL landscape does have some popcorn value.

He's going to do one more show in Week 1 of the 2025 season.

I'm confused. I thought the Rose Bowl was always 5:00pm ET. So, we're just talking an hour (though, I understand that one hour can cause the missed sunset).

Yeah, it is just an hour, but the Rose Bowl committee might just be the most stubborn group of people on the planet. They’ve essentially dictated why the playoff format is the way it’s been, so even a move like this is shocking.
