WSU won 47-44 in 3OT.

Considering the totally crappy game that happened on the other side of the border, that is good news. The issue being that nobody is really sure how good either team really is. But 1) Bozo Community College lost, and 2) Wazzu won (which is fine when not playing the Vandals).

Syracuse loses at home to Middle Tennessee State
Notre Dame loses at home to Georgia
the Ohio State University loses at Home to Oklahoma.

A good day, so far.

And then, there was this:
@WatchStadium: Louisiana Tech loses 87 yards on a play that needs to have the Benny Hill theme running behind it. https://twitter.com/WatchStadium/status/906719985673936896/video/1

That was terrible. Too many defensemen trying to be a hero and pick the ball up for a highlight TD. FALL ON THE BALL. PERIOD. Embarrassing.

So Clemson jumped from 30-1 to 20-1 to win the National Title following Week 1...the biggest jump of any team (For reference, I got in on Clemson last season at 7-1 shortly before the beginning of the season). The Tigers will get a good test here the rest of September (vs. Auburn, @ Louisville, vs. BC, @ Virginia Tech). If they get through September unscathed, I would have to imagine Clemson will be closer to 10-1 or better. So, if you have faith in Clemson, now would be the time to still get a pretty good price on a legitimate playoff contender.

Clemson now down to 12-1 after taking down Auburn. Clemson sacked Auburn 11 times Saturday Night...1 away from the school record of 12 (and the most against any Power 5 team in school history). While the Offense struggled at times, the Defense was smothering. The Tigers have allowed 80 yards of passing combined in 2 games this season (if they still used sack yardage to take away from pass yardage, the Tigers would have allowed a total of 9 passing yards in the first two games combined). Hopefully it keeps up this Saturday against Louisville...which could be another "instant classic" similar to last season's thriller.

USC (Spoiled Children) have scrubbed the 2006 Rose Bowl from their record books.

FWIW, the NCAA required it as part of their settlement Re: Reggie Bush. It would be an NCAA violation if they counted it. However, it leads to the interesting situation where Texas views its record against Southern Cal as 1-4 (with the 1 win coming in the 2006 Rose Bowl), while Southern Cal has to count its record against Texas as 4-0. The weird thing is that they are both correct...at least according to the NCAA.
