Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

This has 17-13 or 18-13 Iowa win written all over it.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Ya, def shouldn't lose to that iowa team. Ultimately not sure how much it means because still a good chance a one loss big ten champ gets in the playoff.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Well...it will be interesting to see what the committee does after this weekend.

Obviously, Alabama is #1. After that, you have a mix of Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, Louisville, and Washington fighting for #2-4.

My guess:
1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Louisville
5. Michigan
6. Washington

Another weekend like this and Oklahoma could put itself back in the mix...crazy weekend.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Penn State is going to win the Big Ten East. Ponder that on the Tree of Woe.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

I see clemson falling below both michigan and washington. Clemson lost to a mediocre team at home. At least michigan lost to mediocre team on road. And Washington lost to a red hot usc. We'll see.

I am gonna say:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio state
3. Michigan
4. Washington
5. Clemson
6. Louisville

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

At that point, Ohio state-michigan loser will fall out of it anyway. So i think clemson still makes playoff if they win out.

Here would be an interesting scenario:

1) Alabama beats Auburn, but loses the SEC Championship game to an 8-3 Florida team.
2) Ohio State wins out, but so too does Penn State. Penn State then falls in the B1G title game to a 9-3 Wisconsin squad.
3) Clemson beats Wake Forest and South Carolina, but loses to Virginia Tech in the ACC Title game.
4) Washington State wins out, and captures the Pac12 title.
5) West Virginia beats Oklahoma, but loses to Baylor. Oklahoma knocks off Oklahoma State to win the Big 12.

Obviously an extremely unlikely scenario, but it would likely result in no conference champions making the playoff.

No way Clemson falls behind Washington. Absolutely no way. The committee has noted several times that who you beat is far more important than who you lose to. Washington has faced one of the easiest schedules in all of college football. Clemson has played one of the toughest schedules. I repeat, no way Washington is above Clemson. I wouldn't even be surprised if Washington fell behind Wisconsin.

Pitt might be #25 because of 2 top 10 wins in the CFP. They kind of make ish up after the top 10

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

It doesn't matter where clemson drops too anyway because they will still be ahead of louisville based on head to head and mich-osu loser falls out.

Exactly. Pitt could wind up having victories over both the ACC and B1G champions. They aren't a great team, and got extremely lucky to escape Death Valley (with the help of numerous phantom calls), but they aren't a slouch either.

Again, what's your rationale for having Washington stay at 4, and Clemson dropping from 2 to 5?

Because USC dominated Washington at Washington, despite being a similar quality team to Pitt, who escaped Death Valley with some help from the stripes? No.

Because Washington has won more quality games than Clemson? No.

Because Washington has played one of the easiest schedules in all of major college football? No.

Because Washington was ranked ahead of Clemson coming into the weekend? No.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Dude shut up already. I get you are a clemson fanboy, i'm not wasting my time arguing with you over this. I already gave you my rationale and you had a coronary. Like i said though, doesn't matter where clemson drops to.
