College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

I think it's a good thing for Stanford that OSU didn't play Northwestern, FWIW. I also think it may hurt Stanford that the Big Ten has 5 teams in the Top 15. If you're a Stanford fan, I think you want Iowa to win the B1G. An MSU win can give the committee the "Well, OSU lost one game to a CFP team and beat Michigan by 30 or whatever two weeks ago, as well as use the leverage of the NW(B1G) loss against Stanford, as well as the MSU win over Oregon. To me it's clear the committee likes the B1G a lot, so should be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Heard a lot of different scenarios if Iowa loses where they'll end up. I really, really want the Rose Bowl if the playoff is out, but it sounds like the committee is going to take the highest CFP team. Rumor has it they may use the end of regular season, or current CFP rankings, as that way an undefeated division champion isn't penalized for playing in the conference title game.

Kirk Ferentz has had two other B1G Champion teams that should've been Rose Bowl teams but both times ended up in the Orange Bowl both times due to sharing those titles. Wouldn't be surprised if Kirk took another team to a NY6(old BCS) bowl for the third time, without a trip to Pasadena. Hopefully I won't have to worry about the loss scenarios after Saturday.:)

Take another look at bronconick's post. I read him as saying the same thing as you, me and everyone else: If Stanford wins their CCG, they'll jump ahead of idle OSU.

Foiled again by double negatives!

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Welcome aboard!:p Curious, what leads you to think it won't be a good game?

I just think MSU has caught fire at the right time, and Iowa hasn't played anyone of their caliber. Let's face it, the B1G West is practically the SEC East.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Granted, I'm no fan of MSU, but at this point we do know that the winner Saturday night is in.

But for good trouble, it would be great to see Florida beats Bama. Which would be perfect if Iowa won- with all of the "why Iowa" talk that has been going on.

And if Stanford can do enough, or maybe OSU did enough last week- whatever it takes to have Iowa in and no SEC team in. That would be awesome.

The haters would bring down the internet faster than ISIS.

According to Sagarin...
Code:

   1 SEC-WEST (A) = 83.34 84.02 ( 1) 7 83.78 ( 1)
   2 BIG 12 (A) = 79.23 78.35 ( 2) 10 79.19 ( 2)
   3 PAC-12(NORTH) (A) = 78.66 77.56 ( 3) 6 78.31 ( 3)
   4 PAC-12(SOUTH) (A) = 77.87 77.20 ( 4) 6 77.47 ( 4)
   5 BIG TEN-EAST (A) = 76.39 76.53 ( 5) 7 76.44 ( 5)
   6 ACC-COASTAL (A) = 75.79 76.06 ( 6) 7 75.96 ( 6)
   7 ACC-ATLANTIC (A) = 75.09 75.73 ( 7) 7 75.33 ( 7)
   8 BIG TEN-WEST (A) = 74.58 74.28 ( 9) 7 74.44 ( 8)
   9 SEC-EAST (A) = 73.85 74.29 ( 8) 7 74.15 ( 9)

Heading to Indy now. Probably running into a storm of black and gold, but ready for a great atmosphere.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

This game is full of LOL. Either 4-7 Texas wins, or Texas blows a 17 point lead. Either way....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

...and now a fight. Awesomeness.

This was my exact stream of thought. This is fantastic. Baylor is finding EVERY possible to lose this game. I've never seen anything like it. Now they are practicing snaps with their QB on the side as if he's never taken a snap before. How do you not practice this stuff with your backup quarterback? Man alive.

Edit: I didn't realize this was his first week as backup. As he was normally a WR, I guess it's not too far-fetched they haven't practiced a lot

Ohio St. DC Chris Ash to be named head coach at Rutgers.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Baylor can't throw, so Texas puts 6 in the box and lets Baylor ram the ball down the field. 20-17
