Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

12-0 for the first time in school history. Simply amazing. Today was a really, really big day for Iowa Football, and particularly the older generations of Hawkeye fans. My grandpa watched 19 straight years of Hawkeye Football without a winning season. Tonight, slight tears of joy filled his eyes as Iowa finished the regular season undefeated for the first time since 1922. This entire season has been an unexpected blessing and man has it been fun. Can't wait for Indianapolis next weekend.

Obviously you're going? I have no problems rooting for Iowa, Especially when it's them or State or OSU

Not sure what david shaw is doing here. Still has all 3 timeouts but time is running out.

I would anticipate stanford jumping ahead of ohio state to #6

Now Les Miles is staying at LSU.

The cajuns have a mess on their hands down there. They're not sure if they're walking or riding a horse.

Rumors were they wanted jimbo fisher but really, why would he leave the ACC for the SEC West? If they contacted jimbo'sagent and were told he's not interested, guess there wasn't a plan b.

As a Gopher fan, I know "who hates Iowa, we hate Iowa" and everything, and I've been on the receiving end of unprovoked boorishness from Hawkeye fans, but Iowa winning a National Title is a much more palatable thought than Wisconsin.

I'm with you. I've never wanted Duke to win anything let alone as badly as I did last year in the bouncy ball. Football? Unbearable.

Re: College Football 2015-16: The Big Ten Rises

Things got a lot clearer after this weekend. But there could still be some drama in the final rankings.

The SEC could lose its spot completely if Florida (10-2) upsets Alabama, leaving the door open for Ohio State. I don't see the BIG 10 championship loser getting back in ahead of the Buckeyes even if its MSU. I don't see a way in for Notre Dame (10-2) or Stanford (10-2) at this point, because there are too many zero and 1-loss teams ahead of them, even with a PAC-12 title. I also don't see North Carolina (11-1) making a big enough jump to get in with a win over Clemson. They would have to move a lot in this weeks ranking to set that up. But with 2 FCS games this year, they are screwed. Oklahoma St. (10-2), TCU (10-2), Baylor (9-2) are also locked out from the Big 12.

Stanford is the only 2 loss team I see with any chance if I had to pick one.

Top 4:
Clemson (12-0)
Alabama (11-1)
Iowa (12-0)
Oklahoma (11-1)

Alive for a spot:
Michigan State (11-1)
Ohio State (11-1)

Congrats to Houston (11-1) on being the likely non-power 5 team to get a NY6 bowl.

Houston still has to play a pretty good temple team so we'll see.

And if the committee has no problem ranking one loss power five teams ahead of an undefeated iowa, they should also have no problem ranking a two loss team ahead of a one loss team. Stanford has more quality wins on their resume than ohio state and just beat a higher ranked team than ohio state just did.

Might not matter anyway but the game to watch if you're ohio state etc is the ACC title game because i don't see any way florida beats alabama. But i do think there is a good chance north carolina can beat clemson. Game is in charlotte, should be a pretty good crowd.
