Colgate@RPI 1/16/15

Re: Colgate@RPI 1/16/15

Prior to last week’s Princeton game, RPI’s last five games had been against BU, Harvard, Miami (twice), and Quinnipiac, none of which was ranked lower than # 15 in the USCHO poll at the time the games were played.

RPI lost all five. I consoled myself with the thought that it would be easier from there on out, because RPI would not face another team the rest of the season ranked as highly as those teams.

So tonight, Colgate comes to the Field House, and while the Raiders still are not ranked as highly as any of those other four, they have just moved up to # 15 in this week’s poll.

Guess the Engineers will just have to try to win a tough one while they’re still waiting for the schedule to get easier.

Guess the Engineers will just have to try to win a tough one while they’re still waiting for the schedule to get easier.

If the team can remain relatively healthy the rest of the year, we can lay a foundation such that next year everyone else will be complaining about having RPI on their schedule.

Let's keep the 31-year cycle intact: RPI National Champions 1954, 1985, 2016.

Kasdorf in goal

Love having Luke back where he does the most good-defending. I think we need his defensive defending ability far more than his presence up front. I am also very happy to see Kenny G in the line up. I suspect ice time will help him get into this line up and contribute and besides, he hits like a rock out there and we can use some of that against a rather fast moving Colgate team. Hoping that third line can fly and keep the opposition backing up and playing in their own end with the forecheck. But honestly feel the key for me is Kazzie. If he plays tonight as we all know he can(and has in the past), we become a totally different team. Score first, score often, stay out of the box, move the puck on the power play, get guys in front of the net, block shots, clear out our own crease, prevent any odd man rushes and take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor. Sounds rather easy.;)

Re: Colgate@RPI 1/16/15

Absolutely nothing can go right today. Must mean that the game is going to end up 6-1 with RPI getting a last minute goal, and that's being optimistic. Things better start turning around and quick.
