Colgate at Clarkson, 1/16/10

TheValleyRaider

Let's Go 'Gate!
Both teams come in on the heels of Friday night losses and have been struggling as of late. Colgate at least has a strong start to buoy their record, as Clarkson has struggled from the get-go

Cheel has seen 4 ties in the last 5 regular season meetings between these two teams. Clarkson's only win against Colgate on home ice in the last 6 years came in their 2008 Quarterfinal series, otherwise the Raiders are 4-0-4 since 2003-04 in Potsdam

Knights trying to get out of the ECAC cellar, Raiders want to at least maintain their position in the League's upper half. Should be fun

Re: Colgate at Clarkson, 1/16/10

Puck deflects past LeVeau, and it's a GOAL! Colgate scores!

According to Radio, Day tried to pass to Smith, but it deflected off a Clarkson defender, then rolled towards the net. A Clarkson defender then crashed into LeVeau and the puck wound up in the goal. The red light didn't go on, but the goal is on the scoreboard without review.

'Gate scores!

I was totally caught off-guard by that, I thought it was a Clarkson score there but didn't hear the train horn.

Re: Colgate at Clarkson, 1/16/10

End of the 1st. Colgate is up 2-0. Raiders need to keep playing with the same intensity.

Re: Colgate at Clarkson, 1/16/10

Decent 1st period. A bit of fortune for the first goal, but after last night I'll certainly take it. Great individual effort by McIntyre to go end-to-end for the 2nd goal, and suddenly it's a big lead after 20 minutes. Evin made several key saves, including a big toe save while it was still scoreless, to keep the game even. Disappointed in the PP effort so far, but what else is new? Hopefully they keep up the intensity through the rest of the game, that needs to be the message. Do not let Clarkson get some confidence and try to get back into this game

Re: Colgate at Clarkson, 1/16/10

Small scrum breaks out. Trainers from both teams out on the ice. Borowiecki is down on the ice and appears to be hurt. He's up and being helped off the ice
