Colgate 23-24

An exciting game to watch, with lots of energy from both teams. Clearly two very talented teams, though each missed some scoring opportunities. A great crowd, including a supportive turnout from the men's hockey team, pep band, and many other students.

Colgate looked lethargic and Ohio State skated very well the first two periods -- clearly the better team at the beginning of the game.. The Raiders came alive in the third period, tied it up with just over a minute to go on a lovely 6-on-4 goal, and had a great opportunity to win it in the last few seconds. An exciting start to the season.

Crowd was much smaller and quieter than last night. Few students today.

Ending college games with 3-on-3 in overtime is a letdown. As an old-timer, I still haven't accepted 3-on-3 as being "real hockey."

Good game, Gate didn't play until the third. Colgate has two very good goalies, thought Pais was the best player and will be a game changer !

I really like our new D members too. Morrow we knew would be good but Pickering as a first year really impressed me during game 2. Eichfeld has also improved over the summer so she can play when the heat is on too. Good decision making all around by our D v OSU...

Gate has four grad students and four seniors on the roster. Ohio State has eight grad students and seven seniors. Makes me feel better that we were able to compete with them !

Congratulations to #3 Colgate defeating #11 Penn State handily tonight, 6-3, at the Class of 1965 Arena in Hamilton, N.Y.
I watched it on ESPN+ and it was a very entertaining game. I have to admit, though, that there were more penalties than I expected.
Tomorrow afternoon, I plan to be in attendance for the re-match. Go 'Gate!

Five point game (3 goals, 2 assists) for Kaltounkova, and a strong game by the entire team in their 6-2 win. Osborne made several fine saves. Overall a solid performance against a good Penn State team.
... and appreciation for the Colgate pep band which was there again to support the team and energize the crowd.

Seems like IowaBT is becoming a women's ice hockey fan!!

Quasi, I have always been supportive of women’s ice hockey and have seen games in Minneapolis, Madison, Hamilton, Potsdam, New Haven, Burlington, Ithaca and elsewhere. But, this season I have decided to truly appreciate and enjoy the sport like never before. Tonight, I really enjoyed the goaltending by both teams, but especially Colgate. It will take me awhile the learn the names and the nuances, but I will get there. Go ‘Gate!
