Colgate 23-24

The entire Covid transfer portal situation has come home to roost with a number of our top senior players choosing to stay another year at the expense of some talented underclass players who were squeezed and supplanted by a very good incoming class and a great OSU transfer. As a consequence we have lost a number of rising Sophs and Juniors. Some landed successfully in other programs, some I still cannot find at this time. They may have simply left the team and stayed at Gate. Regardless, I'm very sorry to see this and expect it is a one time Covid related event as Coach Fargo has always been very supportive and loyal to all the young women he has recruited.

Thanks Rightnut...Here's to a great 2023-24 season. We have a lot of talent on this roster, probably the most ever with solid depth everywhere.

Team is loaded, will be very interesting against Ohio State home the last weekend in Sept. x2.

As of today Katie C is not on Cornell's posted roster, but Linked In has her as a Cornell student after waffling back and forth between us and them for a few days...might she have to sit out for a period of time?

All extremely deserving but it never hurts when your coach is in charge. Go Gate, go Chelsea!
Look at the number of OSU players on the team as well. I sense there is a two prong strategy in play here, beat Canada clearly #1, but also learn as much about OSU's best players as possible prior to our late Sept opening weekend...

I'm waiting for the Canadian U-18s where we'll have 1 and hopefully 2 players. I had hoped for 1 on the US U-18 team but she didn't make it.

Canada just announced all members of their 2 teams that will play the US this week in Lake Placid and in addition to the 4 players we knew about, i.e., Pais, Palumbo and Murphy on development and Pickering on U-18, there are 2 future Gate players on the rosters. Alexia Aubin is on the college development team, she arrives next fall and Maxine Tremblay who arrives the following fall made the U-18 team. Both are from Stanstead College in Que where Rosie Demers went and both are very talented. Tremblay was the player I was looking for on the U-18 team and I had forgotten about Aubin who is very young for that development team as she's still in high school but can really play as she showed on the U-18 team for the last 2 years.

All in all 8 development team players between the US and Canada and 2 U-18 Canadian players. Very impressive for our program.

Wishing her sucess going forward, just not against us. Wonder why she left, she got alot of ice time ? Maybe because of all the new talent coming in ?

That's my guess, but by the end of last year I really felt she was a solid player and making a great impact. One of my favorites I also wish her the best. Cornell will be good this year, another good incoming class there.

Just read her bio on the Cornell website. Absolutely no reference to her years at Gate. You have to be kidding me. Just a junior walk-in it appears...

The US/Canada series in Lake Placid is confirming some things we already know and educating us re some of the talent joining us for the first time this year. On what we already know, our D corps on the College development team has shined. For the US Ally Simpson in particular has been great and mentioned often by the broadcasters along with newcomer Sidney Morrow. On the offensive front E Biederman has been a game changer and total thorn in everyone's side as usual and will even be better this year. On the Canadian side goalie Hannah Murphy was very good in her game and newcomers Madeline Palumbo and Emalee Pais are fast and skilled and will definitely be positive factors for us this year.

On the U18 Canadian team Asst Captain Avery Pickering has been a beast. With her and Morrow along with Simpson, Bard, and our other talent already in house and coming in, we should be improved quite a bit on D over last year.

Hard to believe but only ten days to the SLU exhibition game and seventeen days to The Ohio State University games. Hoping for at least a split !
