Colgate 2025-26

It was a bizarre game as it developed.
At times it was hard to keep up with the goals in quick succession. And then it became hard to keep up with all the penalties. he he he
But, I am really happy for the seniors. It was definitely their night. Although I feel bad for Nick Haas. “We hardly knew ye.”
Apparently it will be Yale at Colgate on Saturday night at 7 p.m. Be there or be square.

Shabby, with next weekend’s schedule being what it is, I am going to go to the RPI at Clarkson game on Friday and then the Yale at Colgate game on Saturday. Please consider my offer to pick you up late on Saturday afternoon (on my way home from Ogdensburg via the Westernville Cemetery) take you to dinner and the Yale game, and then drop you off back at home afterwards. I can drive back to Owego and sleep all Sunday!! Please seriously consider the offer. I would love to do so.

In this season's ECAC Pick 'Em contest, the top two pickers were Rainman and Shabby, who tied with 84 points.
Rainman is the champion, however, as he beat Shabby on the total-goals differential.
Congrats to you both, topping 23 other ECAC Hockey fans/contestants!!

You could have joined us at/near the top Iowa. But you always picked us to get swept every week

It’s for my own mental health, Rainman. When we win, I am thrilled that we won. When we lose, at least I got a point in Pick ‘Em.
And it is the reverse with Cornell. When they win, I get a point! And when they lose…

Just some updated Colgate regular-season stats on scoring first and penalties taken...

34 games: 12-18-4
Non-Conference; when Colgate scored first, 1-3-1; when opponent scored first, 2-5-0
In-Conference; when Colgate scored first, 5-1-2; when opponent scored first, 4-9-1

34 games: 12-18-4
15 Games in which Colgate has been Most Penalized: 5-8-2
15 Games in which Opponent has been Most Penalized: 7-7-1
4 Games in which both Colgate and Opponent have been Equally Penalized: 0-3-1

Tonight, I watched two Atlantic Hockey America tournament games on FloHockey; both were one-n-done.
NPI#62 Mercyhurst at NPI#49 Canisius. Canisius 39-17 SOG. Mercyhurst upset Canisius in Buffalo and won, 5-2, and will advance.
NPI#47 Army West Point at NPI#55 Niagara. Niagara won, 5-4, and will advance.

In October, Canisius beat Colgate, 4-2, on Friday and Colgate beat Canisius, 5-3, on Saturday; both games were in Hamilton.

This coming Saturday, NPI#57 Yale is at NPI#48 Colgate in a one-done ECAC Hockey tournament game. We had better be ready.

Barring upsets this weekend, if we beat Yale where would we play next weekend ? Dartmouth and Cornell are tied for second place with 47 points, think they split the regular season 1-1 ?

For those of you who have long memories you may recall the final game of the 1996-97 hockey season...after beating Yale twice during the regular season we played the Bulldogs again in a "play-in" game in the first round of the playoffs at Starr Rink...despite outshooting Yale something like 46-22 we lost 1-0, ending Harder's great college career (I believe Alex Westlund was in goal for Yale, but not sure)...perhaps Mike remembers how his career did end and will have the team super focused on another one-game playoff...SLU could've easily upset Harvard last night and Clarkson scraped out a 2-1 win over improving RPI...the one game series (for better or worse) demands great focus and intensity...in light of the above referenced game I would expect us to come out ready to play...

Reid Dyck led Colgate out onto the ice for tonight’s pregame warmup. Noah Pak in goal for Yale.

Yale strikes first midway through first. 8-5 SOG ‘Gate.

No penalties.

Colgate 18, Yale 10, SOG after one.
Yale 1, Colgate 0, score after one.

Noah Pak has been the difference so far.

Colgate penalty (interference). Killed.

Seconds later, a defensive breakdown leads to a beautiful Yale goal.

Colgate penalty (tripping). Killed.

Antonio Fernandez with a snipe!! From Michael Neumeier and Ryan Spinale.

Another ‘Gate backhand beauty. Michael Neumeier from Jake Schneider.

Matching minor penalties (roughing). Killed.

Colgate 32, Yale 15, SOG after two.
Colgate 2, Yale 2, score after two.

Yale penalty (holding). Killed.
Colgate penalty (hooking). Killed.

Matching minors (roughing). Previous play under review for Major Penalty. It would likely go against Colgate. Unsuccessful.

Speedy Simon LaBelle on a breakaway. UNASSISTED GOAL!!

2:14 remaining. Pak on the bench.

Colgate 40, Yale 24, final SOG.
Colgate 3, Yale 2, final score.
