Colgate 2024-25 Harder Hockey

I'm getting too old for this...gotta get better at closing out games, but, overall, a good effort and health overall is good...really don't know if finishing third or fourth matters that much...Cornell has gotten healthier as well and will be playing their hearts out for their great coach...hard to name any better first year kids in the league than Mr. Neumeier...a Neumeier/Niedemeyer pairing next year would be fun to watch...

5-1 beatdown of Union...didn't expect this result. Boys played well . Thought we pretty much dominated, good way to go in thye playoffs.

I just arrived home from the game, and here are my thoughts:
  • The team seems to have gotten its mojo back after that OT win on Friday. They played like they were on a mission.
  • The "scoring by committee" continues, with 8 different players scoring goals this weekend (over both games).
  • It was nice to see one more game at Messa Rink, but I won't miss it. The steps in each section are rather steep, and I felt packed like a sardine.
And we get a weekend off while 8 other teams play an elimination game next weekend. They should be fun to watch.

Short of a Dartmouth or Cornell loss next weekend, we will get The Big Red at home for a best of three. Not sure how I feel about that.

We beat every team in the league this year except Yale haha, and beat everyone except Clarkson, Union and Yale at home too, none of which we could face in the QF.

Are we ‘outperforming the market’ (i.e. - doing better than we should)?

he he he
Yes I think so. I don’t remember where we were picked to finish this year but it wasn’t in the top 4. We have a solid team but are we better than Cornell or Dartmouth? We’ll find out soon enough.
Greencoat, what’s a “high alpha” team?
