Colgate 2023-24

sshablak

It all starts with the goaltending.
No fancy title, just ECAC tournament champions. We lost some very key players, goaltending and defense are strong but I'm not sure where the scoring will come from. Carry on !

Shabby, thx for initiating...feel the same way...should be solid defensively and in goal, but loss of scoring an issue...incoming class is small and includes two transfers...it is understandable that with DV's retirement and Harder's ascension to head the program, our recruiting has been impacted this year (2024 looks better, although seniors lost that year will also be large)...to be honest I think it will take some time for Coach Harder to put his imprint on MIH, perhaps two years...so realistically, around .500 this season seems to be in the cards...

Thanks, Shabby.
I expect to see Colgate in Lake Placid and Saint Paul. I figure that I have the whole season to lower my expectations, if need be.

I have a feeling this will be the best year of Mike Harder’s tenure. We will for sure be in Placid and surprise many. Don’t know if we’ll repeat. But we will challenge.

Don't see that happening when both Young bros and Verboon are gone. They were easily Colgate's best 3 forwards

Okay, I think I am up on things...
Bought season ticket and parking pass, with Sullivan Suite access.
Bought ticket to Colgate at Maine games, January 5-6.
Bought ticket to Colgate at Sacred Heart games, October 13-14.
Registered for Colgate at Sacred Heart pre-game reception, Friday, October 13.
Unfortunately, when I realized that the season would start with the October 6-7-8 weekend, I made plans for the September 29-30-October 1 MIH weekend. Dang!

Noticed Cornell’s icon as listed on Colgate opponent schedules seems to be a new and improved, dark red, block C. Nice work, Nicki. She bolted and stuck us with this hideous retro, non-‘gate nothingburger ‘C’. We were robbed.

Here's to new beginnings and hoping Coach Harder can do for men's hockey what Coach Fargo has done for women's...make them a consistent winner and a team that can recruit for and sign their fair share of the best talent every year! Go Gate!

Cornell men’s ice hockey individual home game tickets are on sale. Today, I bought my tickets for University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) at Cornell, October 27-28, and Colgate at Cornell, December 2. Go ‘Dogs and Go ‘Gate!!

For those fans coming to Colgate this Saturday (Oct 7) for the men's hockey game at 7 pm, it's a great opportunity to catch the nationally ranked women's hockey game at 2 pm. While you're here also check out the women's volleyball game at 3 pm; and if you want to brave the cold and rain -- men's soccer at 5 pm. The students are on fall break, so the teams would welcome your support!
