Scoreless after one, but... Colgate 16, New Hampshire 5, Shots On Goal. ‘Gate dominating play with some very good opportunities, including one ping off the post. Hopefully we can keep the confidence up in the second and third periods.

NH came out stronger in period two, had two power plays early and scored on the first. NH 1, Colgate 0, after two. Colgate 21-13 SOG. Colgate again played well, and didn’t get rattled by their PPG. Third period will be interesting.

Give ‘Gate team leadership that Win. I don’t know if it was coaches or captains, but they got Colgate revved up before the third period and we came out loaded for Bear. Colgate 2, New Hampshire 1, final.

That was the best game of hockey I have seen a Colgate team play in years. They were tenacious, fast, and shooters! I am very impressed. Mitch played well in goal. Go 'Gate!

The board is pretty silent after a big first win that was much deserved. Thought the team was fast, disciplined and physical all night which we have not seen in awhile. If we continue to play like this I have no doubt we are at least a mid level ecac team. We are still missing that gifted Shotmaker. However, Returning 15/16 pt leaders and all 6 D is extremely significant. I think the loss of Point might not hurt as much as most people think. You still need a team to control the puck and play hard and that’s what we did last night.

Anybody watch on ESPN +? Was wondering how the feed was

I am struggling with ESPN+. Signed up last week and have yet to find any college hockey content ‘cept Polls.
New Hampshire thread has good post-game analysis on here, from their standpoint.

Feed on ESPN+ was very good quality. The in arena production needs some work though. The center ice camera person missed a lot of the play (and I do mean A LOT) and they had some long delays where they did not patch in the radio announcer. A couple small coughs in the feed but no more than 3-5 seconds and there were maybe 3-4 during the entire game.

‘Gate started slow, but dominated second half of first period. 7-7 SOG. Colgate 1, New Hampshire 0, after one. Great effort.

SOG 23-18 UNH. But, score is 2-0 Colgate. ‘Gate goalie is playing well, which is encouraging. Through two periods, Colgate team is showing subtle confidence (like last night). Hope they come out of the locker room starting the third period like they did last night. Go ‘Gate.

My issue with ESPN+ feed is that gate radio is not the announcer. I had to have the tv on mute and then streaming radio broadcast. Should be an easy fix but we will see if espn allows it

If you do that, you might have some difficulties with syncing the two. If it's an internet stream of Gate Radio you should be able to pause it long enough to sync it up, but if you're using a conventional radio, get ready for some weirdness. Muting a browser feed shouldn't be tough at all.

nice to get two one-goal wins, but before we get all teary eyed consider that UNH was picked 9th and 10th by two prognosticators (out of 10 teams) in Hockey East...still need a pick up in scoring...goaltending looks pretty good, thank God...

It has been a long time since I have seen a Colgate team play with such intensity and speed....not for one or two periods, but for the whole game. They are fun to watch. I feel as though no one who has posted tonight (except Iowa) even saw the game. The talk was about ESPN+ and how horrible UNH is. Are you kidding me? Had you been in Riggs Rink this weekend you would have seen two excellent, fast-paced hockey games. We all know it is a long season, so can we enjoy and celebrate two great wins ??? The boys are working hard and it is paying off. Let's get behind them. Go 'Gate!!

I was making the point that the energy and knowledge is better with John on the call
 
CU, look at my post from earlier today. I agree with you 100%. This isn’t quite Spink, Spink, Baun but so far is definitely fun to watch. Pundits had UNH getting 2 wins this weekend. I don’t care if UNH finishes dead last in HE (11 teams btw greencoat) winning games is first and foremost in college hockey. There is more parity than ever right now and even most teams in Atlantic Hockey are much better (see this weekends results alone for most teams on the road). That being said, 2 wins over any HE opponent at home is solid with a Frosh in goal who did great. Just the confidence he needed going forward. Again, gate will be a competitive team in the ECAC this year. Do not be surprised to see them finish in the top 7 if they keep this hockey style up. I know some of you think they should be top two every year but so does every other program. The next 3 games will be very tough so these two wins were great.

That ESPN+ announcer must have been a student intern. His call of the game almost put me to sleep. They better upgrade to John McGraw fast (or someone like him). Overall the broadcast was good but I agree with whoever called out the mid-ice cameraman. Got to do better than last night.

Congrats to the Raiders on starting the season 2-0. Hopefully this will give some of the younger players the confidence they need on the road next weekend.

I was at Saturday's game. I really liked what I saw from the team as a whole from start to finish.

They say winning breeds confidence. Go 'Gate.
