Interesting things happen when you win some big games. Vaughn on Syracuse sports radio this morning at 11am, tonight on USCHO, TMQ has a segment on them this morning. Getting the media blitz, now we have to keep that going through Vermont. Just get the win and get back into league play, on the emotional high. Easier said than done but anything less than a win will hurt the momentum.

After all of this colgate talk by the media I am actually thankful that we have a tough team coming in here this weekend. It's a ranked opponent that we know we have to play well against if we want to win. If we had the Dartmouth/Harvard weekend id be more concerned with a let down.

Interesting news about the new rink from DV's USCHO visit. He said they are breaking ground in the spring, and hope to be playing in the rink in the fall of 2016. I am hoping he meant 2015-16 season, but only time will tell.

Don't overlook Harvard, they are playing well and tied Q-Pac last night.

If he said "in the fall of 2016", that would mean he hopes the rink is ready in time for the 2016-17 season. It's rather unfortunate timing, given the fact that the Spink twins, Baun, Borkowski etc. will be graduating in May of 2016. But hopefully it gives us a shot in the arm when it comes to recruiting top quality players.

Two years seems to me to be an awful long time to build a rink, but, I was told that by a University official,

It would actually be 2-1/2 years if it is the fall of 2016 and they are breaking ground this spring.

To be honest id like to see a mid season opening with the opener being cornell (or last game at Starr being cornell) BU did something like this when they opened agganis.

I don't think so, but I'm sure there are many considerations to be had, including possible bonuses and the state in which it's being done, but I'll refrain from the political B.S. here. BTW, have they mentioned if it will be multi-purpose, or will the other parts of Reid still be used for other events? It was nice to poke my head into a volleyball game or other event going on during the intermissions.

Stranger than Fiction Dep't: PLN schedule has us playing Syracuse on 1/14 :eek:

Not to worry; it's the women who are facing off with Syracuse.
