Triple bill in Utica at the AUD - UC Pioneers open things up, then Colgate v. SUNY Ithaca, then Utica Comets in the night cap...:D

blemberg - FYI, Shabby is the *master* of this annual thread and he - and only he - starts the new thread when he wants to & it's appropriate,... usually in late August or September. Stay tuned. Meanwhile keep posting here.

I'm sympatico with you GreenCoat, however I *hope* this is not a new beginning. I hope we can build on the guys we have - like the Spink twins - and the experince we got last year to increase our wins this season and maybe sneak into the top four in the league, but it's gonna be tough.

Intersting that Anthony Sanniti popped up as an incoming frosh. Were he, and Brooks Herrington from Vermont, the "unknown" skaters we talked about earlier, to fill out the roster? With 10 recruits, this should answer some of your concerns Greeen Coat :)

I see Julian Fialkow has come out of hiding again to play of us,... LOL

As FYI, future Gate frosh Andrew Black is participating in the Sabres Prospects Camp and reportedly has looked pretty good. His dad, Ted, is president of the Sabres so partly explains the connection. Looks like Vaughn has another good recruiting class coming in and you guys should be loaded in another year or two.

BTW, when is the wrecking ball coming for Starr?? I know a lot of Union fans will be glad to see it go ;).

I think Shabby more or less inherited the responsibility of starting the annual Colgate thread because the rest of us were too lazy to do it.

I think I actually started it in either 99 or 2000. I need to get a better feel on this year's recruits before I start the new one.

thanks Shabby...very glad to see real improvement regarding the depth issue...we all know the ECAC is now very competitive both within and outside of the league...and competition for ice time will be a good thing...less than 3 months and, since the Browns will probably go 5-11 this season it's 'Gate football and hockey that occupies my fall and winter...

My poor Browns! I read about a Browns fan living in Cleveland who had just passed away. His final request was to have six Browns players be his pallbearers. Why ?
He wanted to be "Let down" one more final time by the Browns. :D

yes, Shabby...after I heard the news about the deceased Browns fan I decided to change my will...the city by the lake and its loyal fans deserve more...realistically we've got a better chance of success with Biddle and/or Vaughan...after so many years that works for me...

Don't take me too seriously, blemberg. Wasn't meaning to offend you. It's all in good fun. I like to promote shabby for all the work he does looking into the crystal ball for next season. Usually his predictions are on the money :)

So does anyone think that the school will announce the start of construction of the new rink at this weekend's Slater Golf Tournament. With the last report being so close to the goal it would probably be a good time to make the announcement (if it has reached the funding threshold). Any thoughts?

I like that idea very much, you would think they would have to start the construction soon to be ready in 2014 probably.

We are very close to playing Cornell at Yankee Stadium in January, would be fun.

Although great opportunity, would be kinda disappointing to see the one game that gets Starr rocking moved out of there.
