Re: Colgate 2012-13

I just called KXZ and they are now aware that we cannot get the feed (through the computer). Hope they can fix it.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

3-0 SLU after one...two goals in the last minute. One with 2-3 seconds left. Good Lord .

Re: Colgate 2012-13

frankly Shabby, what the **** do you expect??? Tonight I've hit the troika: no video, no audio, and, sadly, another typical Colgate performance against SLU...an embarrassment??? not quite yet, but we're working on that, too...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

I am fed up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Colgate 2012-13

All time low for the program as far as I'm concerned !!! You can't even listen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Colgate 2012-13

If we had played the entire game like we did the 3rd period, we may have come out with a win. Once more Spiro played great + the Cornwall kids. Backs against the wall; no way out of this but to come up big tomorrow nite.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

no Shabby, the all-time low was probably reached in 1977-78, the year Terry Slater started as coach...Jim Higgins left him with nothing, bolted to Princeton and went on to accomplish virtually ZERO at Old Nassau...Terry went on to completely turn around a Colgate program that was, frankly, a joke for most of the 1970s...we're not there yet, although, as I have said time and time again, we are doing NOTHING to stop the slide in the program...I'm glad we scored 2 PP goals in period #3 to avoid an embarrassment and I hope (believe me) that we can make this a competitive series...again, I HAVE TO BE OBJECTIVE and remain very doubtful...I hope I am wrong...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Embarrassing night for Colgate hockey. Nights like this...years like this, really make one dig deep to muster loyalty to the maroon and white. First period killed us. Playing from behind. Where are the "so called" upperclassmen?? They, the upperclassmen, should be ashamed!! Larkin and Bourdon.....disappointing year! This WAS a team with potential....the kids showed up to play, but the old men sure didn't. Can't believe we will only have 2 seniors next year. Same crap, different night! Looking forward to Nov/Dec 2013, maybe we'll win again......oh, but then lay an egg in the 2nd half of the season. I guess there is always tomorrow.....given the INCONSISTENCY of this team, you never know.

SG6 with 2 points!!!! Now there's loyalty!! Proud that we can call him a Red Raider! Keep fighting the fight Spiro.
Go 'gate!!

Re: Colgate 2012-13

let's get a reality check boys and girls...this team, and, unfortunately, the six or seven that have preceded it, lacks depth of talent and consistent goaltending...if you can't recruit and you are limited to the number that you are recruiting you're going to come up short...for those of us who've watching this develop for almost a decade it's really no surprise...it's just getting tiresome and boring...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Well, what do you know? It's March, and we have our backs against the wall.

Will we salvage something? Or will it be an early (or should I say, merciful) end to the season? Only time will tell.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Just want to point out that in all three previous series wins against St. Lawrence, the Raiders needed to come from down 1-0 to win 2-1.

For some reason, the Raiders like to do things the hard way.

The biggest turning point of the game came late in the first period when the Saints scored twice in the last minute. If Colgate goes into the dressing room down 1-0, it's a completely different ball game. Colgate and St. Lawrence were fairly even through the first 19 minutes of the period and the Saints goal came on a bad bounce for Colgate as a near save for Mihalik ended up going off of his catching glove and right into the low slot where SLU's Pat Doherty was standing.

Great third period for the Raiders and it was a near dominant 20 minutes. St. Lawrence's chances were few and far between. Having three-straight power plays to open the period didn't hurt either. There were some great chances but either a net was missed on a wide shot, a pass was a little too hard or out of reach or Matt Weninger made a good save. Weninger had about 4-5 lower leg pad (near toe) saves in the first 5 minutes of the period.

Biggest positive for Colgate was Spiro Goulakos. Easily one of the best players on the ice not named Carey or Flanagan. Goulakos had two helpers and he made several strong defensive plays including a shot block late in the third period with the net empty - at the time he was skating backwards between his own circles.

Biggest key on Saturday will be scoring first.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

I can sum it up. Win or go home! My two cents; start Finney, make sure it is tied in the third, give it to bourdon. I think that is a recipe for a win

Re: Colgate 2012-13

just checked.....WKXZ online radio feed is still down....hope to listen to John McGraw on 'gate radio tonight, and not the SLU feed
