Re: Colgate 2012-13

What a shocker...Good luck Spiro...you'll be missed until "You get Back" next season !

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Bummer. Good luck to Spiro; we'll be looking forward to having him back in action real soon!

Re: Colgate 2012-13

echo the sentiments of my friends above...praying for a full return to health for Spiro and thinking of his family and his hockey family at The 'Gate...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

If true that is awful news about Goulakis. I have seen your team play a few times this year, once on TV against Merrimack, once in person. Goulakis is your best player. This is way more serious than hockey of course. I look forward to his recovery and watching him lead your team to success next season.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Well, we got a point last night, which is better than nothing. We also now have the head-to-head tiebreaker over Clarkson. Also, because Cornell lost and UMass won last night, we actually jumped to 18th in the PWR. Because UMass keeps jumping over the .500 RPI line, it affects our "record vs. teams under consideration" because that's 2 wins that help us flip some comparisons. Cornell dropping out removed a loss and a tie from that category as well.

Tonight ... that "curse" game. Unfortunately, it's crucial for both our PWR and our positioning in the ECAC standings. It won't be easy but it could be a statement game.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Gutty effort tonight; I'll take a hard earned point with a comeback tie on the road. Kudos for a great third period rally.

Amost down 4-1, then coming back for the 3-3 tie was huge. Back to Hamilton with 2 pts on the weekend ain't bad. Would have liked 3, but not complaining. Every pt is important this time of year. Great pressure by Larkin, Lidgett, Spinks and Wilson in the third.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

We didn't win this weekend. But - we got a split in the North Country. And we didn't lose in the North Country.

I didn't see or listen to tonight's game, but given how difficult of a rink Appleton Arena has been for us, to muster a 3rd period comeback and at least take 1 point from the Saints? I'll take it. This is the ECAC and given how bunched up the standings are, we'll take every point we can.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

A great comeback after trailing 2-0 early and 3-1. I was expecting a loss so, this point, and the way they got it, was outstanding.

Maybe it was for Spiro...hope you're doing ok !

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Great point from Radio at the end of the broadcast: a lineup with 8 freshman just got 2 points on the North Country trip. And this is with their otherwise....rough record away from home. If you had told me that heading into the weekend, I'd have said "Sign me up!"

Big weekend coming up, especially with still unbeaten Q-pac on Saturday

Re: Colgate 2012-13

getting out of "Dodge" (aka Appleton) with a point after being down by two??? I'll take it...went to Q-Pac-Yale encounter...Bobcats are definitely for real and played great second and thrid periods...with Malcolm out Yale goaltending was shaky at best...who would've believed that after 14 league games Cornell is #11 out of 12...glad to see Ligett on the board again...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

You have to like this team! We are 9-3-3 in our last fifteen games. The PP is currently FOURTH in the nation and we are seventh in scoring and nineteenth in goals allowed. Finney is playing well. We are in a "bubble spot" now for the PWR...I think one more quality win and we're there.

Four of the next six at home then finish with a beatable Harvard and a tough Brown squad. Three points from third and three from eleventh....going to be very interesting.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

The key for this team is to avoid losses at this point in the season. As much as ties suck (from a fan perspective) the two ties are much better than a Win and Tie in the Pairwise. This team is in contention for an at large bid, a "non-loss" to Princeton on Friday and a win against Quinnipiac would be great for this team. My big worry is that with Spiro gone, it is going to be tough sledding ahead. If this team can keep in contact of that 16th Pairwise spot going into the playoffs i will like there chances at making it to the tourney. They cannot fall flat against Princeton looking toward Q-pac, but Saturday's game could be THE make or break game. If 'gate could pull off the upset on Saturday 1/2 of all Q-pac losses would be to Colgate. Will 'gate make it into the USCHO top 20 this week?

Re: Colgate 2012-13

My thoughts and prayers are with Spiro and his family. He will defintely beat this.

Nice NC trip by your team. Assuming everybody stays in school (a big if nowadays), you guys are going to be dynamite in a year or two. Good luck going forward.
