Huge beatdown of Georgetown today, yay!.... Whoops, forgot this is a college hockey board.....

Re: Colgate 2010-11

thought I'ld let the Gater fans in on MacIntyre's game here at the Houston Field House; 2 beautiful goals...all over the ice...EASILY the #1 star (no pun intended) of the game....congrats. Oh, I left with 4:00 left, Albany 3....Adirondak 2

Re: Colgate 2010-11

Thanks for the post Turk. It's great to hear D-Mac is off to a super start.

I`ll second that. He was a beast. Hope he makes it back to the big club.

Thirded. When MacIntyre scored, I turned to my friend asking if he was the same player that had played for Colgate. He was a bright spot in an ugly, ugly game.

Re: Colgate 2010-11

Mac also scored the game winner Friday night in OT !! Two game winners in two nights ! TY Rainman...Yes I did and back at ya !

Re: Colgate 2010-11

INCH dissed us pfffffttttt ranked #40 Union and RPI were like 11 and 12

Re: Colgate 2010-11

Not gonna sweat the preseason rankings, especially from INCH

ECAC people (Press and Coaches) had us top-half in the conference, and we're routinely up high in the standings contest. Actually, those things are never right, it's a bad sign! Maybe INCH is on to something

Oh well, real hockey in 5 days :)

Re: Colgate 2010-11

My GF may not let me drive down to Hyannis for the game this Sat. Should we break up?

Re: Colgate 2010-11

Here is what Ive been told they look like this week heading toward game #1. Looks a little odd to me with the success that Day and Smith had together last year. I like the Prockow, Mayer, Firman line, good size and experience.

Brisebois-Day-Wagner
Bartliff-Bourdon-Smith
Prockow-Mayer-Firman
McCann-Long-Hamburg
Rivellini-Nasca-
Jack Mac still hurt.

Re: Colgate 2010-11

That's odd. I would have rather seen Day-Smith-Firman and either Brisebois-Prockow-Bourdon or Brisebois-Prockow-Bartliff. Those line combinations had success last year.

I'm guessing the coaches want Wagner paired with the top 2 senior scorers to give him experience. I'm guessing one frosh forward will make it onto each line (if they aren't a scratch) to have them all skate with an experienced forward so that no 1 line is inexperienced.

Two more days!!!

Question about women's hockey:
I see 'Gate has hired a new women's assistant coach, but I thought I remembered someone being hired who was quite a catch...highly qualified with Olympic playing experience? Wondering if that sounds familiar to anyone else.

Yeah, Bill, that does sound familiar.

Re: Colgate 2010-11

Bill -

All knowing Google has Colgate hiring Karen Thatcher, a former Olympian and Providence Friar (Friarette?) in May of this year - She made it till August of this year when she headed back to Providence (also as an assistant coach). Story in the Providence Journal (projo.com - or google "Karen Thatcher hockey") says she wasn't looking to leave Colgate but opportunity at Providence and chance to play for Boston based women's pro team came up.

Actually always a bit surprised how well Colgate does in attracting Assistant coaches given the fact that Hamilton isn't the world's best place to be 24-28.
