Cold Turkey Thursday or We're not OPUN today

I'd like to conduct an experiment today that may have profound consequences.

Beginning at 12 noon Eastern and lasting until 11:59 AM Eastern on Friday, there can be no posts about or mentioning the following schools:
Oswego
Plattsburgh
Utica
Norwich

(posts responding to pick 'ems are permitted)

My hypothesis is that 99% of the traffic on this forum revolves around these 4 schools. If traffic regarding these four schools is voluntarily cut off for 24 hours
1. Home life at certain households may improve.
2. That beyond the OPUN schools, D-III is alive with fresh ideas that just need time to be fulfilled.
3. The doctrine of fairness - so prevalent at many of our institutions needs time and freedom to be explored.

Enjoy Cold Turkey Thursday!!

Can we debate this before agreeing?

So let's see if I have this right.... you think the only way to talk about other schools (on an open forum) is to ban discussion on the teams you think are over-discussed? You can post on SUNY Morrisville or St. Olaf any time you want...you don't have to ban talking about Plattsburgh or Oswego to do it. You don't work for the Obama administration, do you?

I hate to rules-lawyer here, but he's fine until we hit noon and this place officially becomes the Becker Hawks Appreciation Station.

Good boy drinking your orange juice says the graduate of.... Penn State and some other PSU to the graduate of _______ that works for ________. Guess you and I will be able to get some work done today since we've been banned from posting, huh?

Re: Cold Turkey Thursday or We're not OPUN today

Its still all RIT's fault.

If they were still Div III (and they played like they were this year), they'd be on the banned list too! So where's the riveting discussion on Johnson & Wales and Concordia (Wisconsin)?

Re: Cold Turkey Thursday or We're not OPUN today

Johnson & Wales is an odd team, they beat Buffalo State twice, Potsdam and Williams but were only 7-6-1 in a mediocre ECAC Northeast. Likewise with CUW, they had some good performances this year then lost to same so-so teams and got crushed a bunch of times.

Re: Cold Turkey Thursday or We're not OPUN today

In all seriousness, the hottest team in the country right now statisically is Plymouth State.

Longest unbeaten streak in D-III at eight games with a 6-0-2 record.

With "fishy" castoff from the Mohawk-Leatherstocking region of New York State, Gordan Ceasar between the pipes in the second half, the Panthers have been racking up the victories. Zach Sarig is as good as any offensively from the blue line as well.

Re: Cold Turkey Thursday or We're not OPUN today

Yes, Plymouth is streaking against such powerhouses as Framingham State, Worcester State and a rebuilding UMass Dartmouth but good for them and for Gordon who got no playing time at that other place he played.

The previous best unbeaten streak in D2-D3 was 10 games by the always powerful Stonehill Skyhawks (formerly Chieftains). The Hawks won 10 straight before dropping a 2-1 heart breaker to St. Mikes in the NE10 Semi's.

Give Wise a little time and let his team mature a bit and they'll make some noise. Not sure if they'll reach the top tier with SNC, CSS, and Adrian in the NCHA, but still could be a sleeper.

Gordon might be dancing however come mid-March while his former team might be left out in the cold....

I for one really hope this is the case for various reasons although I am sure everyone's favorite fish will get on his soapbox on how undeserving Plymouth is.

And that in itself would be pretty entertaining, would it not?
