It would be really interesting if the rest of the world imposed a carbon tax on US imports. We're slipping into the rogue nation status we last enjoyed when we illegally mined harbors and refused to ban landmines. (I'm not looking up whether my company makes landmines because of course it does.)

I think this has the potential to throw the world economy into a recession again. If we start a global tariff war, you can be ****ed sure it's going to grind the economy to a halt. It's going to be who ends up blinking, Europe or the US. Because they would each impose retaliatory tariffs on each other. Would Congress back Trump and let the US go down that death spiral?

Of all the things he's doing this may be the worst. The military considers climate change a national security issue. The wold has consensus on it. Science has consensus on it. There's no upside to him pulling out except to give Bannon a boner.

It's a sad day.

Although it seems Trump's willing to listen, so long as there is benefit to the US.

He's doing a fantastic job painting the Democrats and the Wold the bad guys. Getting plenty of claps and cheers. Also bragged that we have a brand new coal mine opening up in the United States.
