What do Clarkson fans think of Casey Jones so far? I know it's early in his tenure and he hasn't had much of a chance yet to impact the recruiting effort.

I think he's improved the quality of the recruits. Right now it is a rebuilding process (used to be a reloading process in the 90's). I look for good things in 13-14.

This year's team is Karpowich. When he is playing, the Knights have a chance to win. Without him, it's going to be a long night.

MoFan -- Bosco, Bergen, or St. Joe's????

I'm looking forward to the Sioux-Clarkson game this weekend in Winnipeg. Any Clarkson fans making the trip?

Also, what is the scouting report on your team?

It was unfortunate Karpowich missed the game with Maine in Florida. I was looking forward to a re-match after a very entertaining game in Portland. I thought George Roll was one of the good guys in college hockey. Good luck down the road with Casey Jones. It will probably take a couple of years at least to make any substantial change or improvement in the program.

Well, we start 3 freshmen, 1 Soph and 2 Jrs on defense....and are a work in progress. As JoeCCT mentioned, Karpowich is a very good goalie and as he goes, so goes the team.
We have a few guys up front that can fly, but many times fail to finish (which has been our theme the last few years, along with taking lazy stick penalties).

New coach and new systems, yada, yada, yada.

Regarding Casey Jones, I like his energy and passion for the game and believe we will reap the benefits of his recruiting in a few years. Two of the freshman D, Labrecque and Howden, are his recruits. I also like that he is recruiting nationally again and not just Ottawa and New York, I totally agree George Roll was one of the good guys in Hockey, I beleive he stopped recruiting nationally, which did him in.

Regarding Garlasco, he is not injured and fighting for playing time.

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

Clarkson welcomes two new recruits for 2012, Simon Bessette, Wellington Dukes OJHL and TJ Moor, Dubuque Fighing Saints USHL...If anyone has any color on these players it is always appreciated.

Welcome boys!
LGT!!!!

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

Certainly horrible news, will send thoughts and prayers to George and his family.

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

No games in the North Country as the snow has knocked out power to Appleton and Cheel. Game to be made up Sunday at 4 p.m.

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

Not seeing this thread I just posted on the postponement thread, asking about weather, roads tomorrow for a trip from Albany to Sunday's game and then to Lake Placid. I should also be asking about ticket situation? Will I have problems Sunday?

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

Great effort by the Knights tonight! SLU's Weninger (sp?) played a tremendous game tonight, I was suprised that SLU came out flat for such a big game, thought it would be a war. Either way, nice to see a sell out crowd for the North Country!

LGT!!!

Right on all accounts. CCT out hustled SLU all knight, won most of the battles in the corners and along the boards and if not for Wenniger this one would have been over early. As to the crowd, it was the 4th largest in the history of Cheel. LGT

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

Back from the depths of page 4, We have another recruit for 2012, Paul Geiger, Dman Stoufville, who is Christian Finch's current teammate, welcome Paul. Any feedback is welcome on these guys..... We are off to Brom and Ylae this weekend, need four points!!

Re: Clarkson Golden Knights 2011-2012 Season

I know we wanted 4 points, but taking 3 against Cornell and Colgate is pretty good, coupled with the help we got from the league, we have home ice guaranteed and the bye on the line this weekend. Let's get a little momentum going.

Nice to see Erik Cole in the house and his son Landon skate out with the team during introductions.
LGT!
