sweeps in the first round is fairly common. last QMJHL playoffs only had 2, but in 2024 there were 5. in the OHL there were 2 in 2025 then 3 in 2024. WHL last playoffs only had 1 which was unusual, 2024 had 4 sweeps. this year potential for 6 sweeps in WHL and OHL, 4 in QMJHL
 
big news, though not unexpected: Mike McMahon reports Landon Dupont is heavily considering NCAA and recruiting process to commit. Like McKenna, he was given exceptional status in the WHL and is the projected 1st overall in 2027. He's an 09 defenseman playing for Everett. early favorites are Michigan and DU
