Ccha: Bgsu @ nmu, game 3

Re: Ccha: Bgsu @ nmu, game 3

End 1st, no score, BG sounds sluggish, shots 12-5 in favor of NMU...BG to start 2nd on PP...

Re: Ccha: Bgsu @ nmu, game 3

Its all in jest don't worry. I know BG is a progrum that has been in danger of being folded (and could have the same fate with the looming BTHC) and I would not be happy to see that happen.

Listening to the BG feed. Color guy is pretty good.

He is very good. Exciting guy to listen to and he has fun with it...the program is on the up for sure after what they've been through...a win tonight would be HUGE...

In the only other game tonight:
RPI 1 Colgate 1 end of 2
Winner goes to ECAC quarterfinals.

How huge? When was the last time BG advanced past the first round of the CCHA playoffs?

Re: Ccha: Bgsu @ nmu, game 3

Three years ago (2008) they advanced past the First Round with a Game 3 OT win over LSSU at home. They were swept by Miami in the next round. BUT, in the last three years, there have been three coaches, a near extinction, along with three last place finishes. For this program to go on the road and win a series would be absolutely remarkable...

Plus it is Ohio, where everything sucks ***.

Re: Ccha: Bgsu @ nmu, game 3

who was the BG coach between Scott Paluch and their current guy? ( a 1 year -interim guy?)

P.S. I road-tripped down to BGSU in 2008 for that game 3 (michigan fan here) it was quite an exciting game

Yes, Dennis Williams was the interim coach. He did a fantastic job given the circumstances, and though the record looks terrible, they were much more competitive and played much better than the year prior. Many fans wanted him to get the head tag, but I think Chris was a great choice.

I remeber talking to a Michigan fan before that game which was more than likely you. It was an exciting series.

That was a good series. I had a great angle on the GW goal in OT of Game 3. It was a wicked shot...
