CC vs UNO goal waved off

Re: CC vs UNO goal waved off

This may help provide some closure, it may not. But just now (yea I know it's the NHL which is different than college but still) in the Chicago vs. Anaheim game it was explained that puck needed to touch a stick before going in the goal. The puck did touch Cogliano's (irony here as he is a former Michigan player) stick, and therefore the goal being reviewed counted. Of course, here comes yet another slight difference, Cogliano did make a distinct kicking motion.

I saw that play. The reason he had to touch it with a stick was because he clearly kicked it towards the goal, not because it deflected. It was a different situation altogether. If he hadn't touched it with his stick, it would have been no goal.

So it worked, I provided more meaningless confusion!

Well done, UMICH, well done! I couldn't begin to tell you what the original call/no call in the original post was anymore....I think this thread has covered the length of kicking a puck into the goal. Just not sure what exactly was solved - besides the fact that the UNO goal should not have counted.

Re: CC vs UNO goal waved off

It's just more PROOF that uno has bad karma. Those a-holes deserve it too! It was the correct call. The uno player's foot was indeed moving forward in that instance. The rule doesn't say that it has to be a blatant kicking motion. The uno player attempted to disguise it by just skating through the crease. That brings up another point, he "kicked" the puck in the crease.

See, if those mav-holes in Nebraska actually knew how to play the game they could actually score legitimately (unlike how they were conceived)...
ZZZzzzzzzz
