CC @ RPI - Friday 10/28/11

Re: CC @ RPI - Friday 10/28/11

Did not view it-radio made it sound like it was an unnecessary bit of aggression. With the kind of officials we get, you just cannot allow them to take the game out of your hands. This one may end with an empty netter anyway-but you just cannot take the chance of taking a penalty with 2 minutes left in a one goal game. If you saw it and say it was legit-then I would agree. Sure sounded questionable though.

I don't think they had a good look at the play for whatever reason, because their description did not at all accord with mine. CJ made up a lot of ground to try and keep a puck in that would've been cleared all the way down the ice, and just went in a little too hard. Not a smart play necessarily, but I think at that point you have to take chances like that (which is why you pull your goalie in the first place).

Bottom line, if all our penalties were like that one, it'd mean we're playing some really hard-nosed hockey. Obviously, you sit him down and remind him of the points you make, but it wasn't a benching-worthy penalty, or anything close to it, in my view.

He did seem to have an otherwise decent game and created some offensive pressure earlier. Perhaps I am a bit harsh on him because I just expect smart decisions from him. Hope he can redeem himself tomorrow then.

IMO, if CC didn't have Schwartz (either) like we didn't have Higgs (not to mention JL and O'Grady), we would have won, but that's the breaks. :(

Good to see so many fans and posters at the tailgate part (props to Babo for setting it up!) and let's move on to game 2 and get a win for our Red & White.
