CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

Re: CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

Oh come on Scoobs, if they win 6 in a row they will be back around that PWR bubble. I think if they win today and go 3-1 over the next 4 I will have a bit of hope. That said, I really don't see it happening. But ya never know.

I thought they played well in front of Kangas yesterday, and were able to find the back of the net a few times. Pretty simple. Other than that the performance didn't look much different from most of their games this season.
Getting that goal in the first period was huge. It is the first lead they have had since UND, and the game gets so much easier when you have the lead.

Josh Birkholz's goal was sick. That's the kind of thing this team has been missing most of all this year. Those great goal-scoring plays have been almost totally non-existent this season.
The bottom line is CC wants points this weekend. They'll be out for some payback and we'll see in a playoff like game how Minnesota responds.

Re: CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

The CC tourney chances are going "down the tubes" this weekend...:(

Re: CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

Well knock me over with a feather, I anticipated a sweep but not by the home team.

Re: CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

Where's the "Don Lucia Lifetime Extension!!!" Thread?

Congrats on knocking Colorado College off the Pairwise Top 15.

Re: CC @ MN: More Nails in the Gophers' Coffin

Sweeping CC towards the end of the season is like taking home the ugliest chick at last call. Fun for a few, but nothing you feel good about later. Scottie needs take a leave of absence after Christmas every year and see if someone else can actually get the team to finish a season.

Funny! Howe must have been liguered up--had his legs spread wider then usual.
Nice reversal by the gophers on the thread title.
