Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

45 at mine.

The issue is much more about classified e-mail either being sent unencrypted or being on an "unclassified" server. NISPOM has some fairly strict procedures on that sort of stuff. Obviously everything gets transferred through the same pipe with classified data being encrypted, so there isn't much you can do with that. However, are they obstructing justice through destroying/withholding evidence? Or were there violations in accordance with NISPOM?

As a so-called "libertarian", aren't you opposed to the government classifying or obscuring any data at all? Especially the FBI and CIA that libertarians want to abolish?

fyp

At least HRC has been a public servant for decades and while I am certain she's drunk with power is there anything in Trump's personality or demonstrated history that he's anything but a hype machine? The only time he stops to talk about himself is when he wants to talk about Hillary. :)

If Trumpsters want to talk about policy have at it but you all know you can't win that fight.

Yeah, yeah, none of you are Tumpsters yet you can't get enough of tearing down Hillary with nary a peep about her opponent. That's a highly convenient if not lame attempt at playing Switzerland. ;)
Here is what I posted about Trump on July 18, in the Campaign thread:

I think Trump is a salesman (personally I would say huckster). He will look at you and say exactly what he thinks you want to hear him say. If he thinks you want to hear him say that we should kill all the muslims, he'll say it. The next day he'll go to a meeting of muslims and tell them how much he loves them.

I've written this here before, I think, but personally I don't think the actual nuts and bolts of being POTUS interest Trump in the least. It's like all of his grandiose project ideas. Nothing ever gets accomplished or built, but if he gets some publicity out of it, great. I think the only thing that would interest him would be flying around the country, listening to bands play Hail to the Chief and hearing himself introduced as POTUS, and ultimately enhancing his "brand."

You can call me a "Trumpster" all you want. I've made it clear for months I have no intention of voting for him. The guy is an idiot.

But the question still stands. What exactly has Hillary done?

The DailyKos has an answer for you.

Hillary's admirers have conflated her impressive list of jobs with actually having gotten things done. When you scratch the surface, however, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that the woman has done little more than warm a series of comfy leather desk chairs. How has this career politician changed Americans' lives? Not in the least.

No doubt, Hillary knows her way around the corridors of power: First Lady, Senator from New York, presidential candidate, Secretary of State. Nice resume, but what did she do with all her jobs? Not much.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

It's probably not a good sign when you're getting schooled in ethics by the Freedom Caucus.

The DOJ should definitely explore whether Comey violated the Hatch Act. If it's true that he went to Lynch and she recommended not announcing but he went ahead oin his own and did it anyway. That's where the job duties end and partisan politicking begins.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Again, I'll ask, what exactly has she done, and what is it you think she's going to do during these next 4-8 years that will make her a "good" President? She's going to be a status quo President, nothing more, nothing less.

I'll take a status quo president over another George Bush. Or even worse.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Comey was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Between the DOJ suppressing on one one side and FBI agents, who were critical of his previous decision in the case, on the other wanting it out. And all of whom, as we have seen the last couple days from both the DOJ and FBI, are more than willing to leak info. This was very likely coming out one way or the other, it seems.

Yeah, they wanted it out so bad they sat on it for weeks before telling Comey what they had,.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Eskimos have no word for how bad it is when you're getting schooled in ethics by John Yoo.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

This is so intellectually dishonest we're all dumber for having read it. Why don't you ask the 9/11 first responders where they would be without her stewardship on providing them healthcare. Or ask the children since the 90s who have received the benefits of SCHIP. Or perhaps the millions of young, and now, grown women who have looked up to her as a leader in the women's equality movement.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Depends on what the meaning of "is" is. ;) :D

One of my cars is on the road. I'm on the title. I'm not in immediate possession of it, but it's still in my possession, right, as I'm on the title as owner.

Huma may have been separated, but still married, so by definition that computer is still joint community property and thus it's her's and thus legally in her possession until reported stolen or she destroys it and disposes of it. Just because you're not home right now does not mean your bed and pillow are not in your possession.

Your wife's laptop belong to you? I'm sure she might have a different opinion.

A wife's work laptop? Not hubby's.

But when hubby and wifey both use the same home computer at home, that's joint communal property within marriage*. That's why divorce documents go through and list out who gets what of the communal property.

*Yes, that assumes it was bought together after marriage. If not, if one or other owned it before, agree, stickier. It then belongs to whomever brought it into the marriage.

The nice people of Utah are getting robo-calls this week from a white nationalist Trump supporter informing them that Evan McMullin is a closeted homosexual.

Disgusting.

I keep saying this board needs a facepalm emoticon.
