Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread
My. Testy. What is your issue? Or am I just the lucky winner of your flailing attempts to scare off someone willing to listen to and challenge all sides?
Now, on to business. You're apparently not watching Season 20 of South Park and its ongoing thread of Gerald as "skankhunt42". Quite frankly, those "skankhunt42" antics are as appalling (even toward fictional characters) as the abhorrent behavior you've referenced. Yet they go on. And yet "South Park" is considered one of the smartest and most irreverent programs out there. I can understand them (be it South Park or the Alt-Right) and yet not advocate them.
If you want to be mad, be mad at Comedy Central for putting such juvenile behavior out there for others to copy. I see the Alt-Right as the not unexpected outcome of a society that has to be continually ever more outrageous to be noticed. Shows like South Park were and are their toe hold to leap forward (or is that downward).
As far as "Mafia" (I assume you reference my joking that is the name UND should've chosen), I lived in New York for a while. I came away knowing more about the mafia than a "hayseed" from North Dakota ever planned. Why? I had a good friend with a relative who is a resident of a New York State Correctional Facility because of the "family" business. The friend told me so; and, the friend was a nice guy, good friend, but I've also walked into bars and restaurants that went silent, with cold looks, until that friend greeted me. So I knew exactly what I said when I said "Mafia". But I also have ... uh oh ... a smart and irreverent sense of humor.
Or, maybe, I should just do what is blindly expected of everyone here, namely, snear down my nose that "Orange Trump BAD." Fine. There it is. But I find just as many problems with Clinton. Heck, so does The Kos. So what is someone looking for a statesperson to run the country to do, because to my satisfaction I can't find one. YMMV.
Your analysis was that they were really smart, with irreverent humor. If you want to be upgraded from piece of **** human being to just really, really lacking in your abilities to "analyze" and incredibly naive, have at it.
P.S.-- The Mafia? Not just really shrewd businessmen in the fields of construction and garbage disposal, hayseed.
