Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

A Trump apologist (but NOT a supporter ) using Michael Moore as a Hail Mary. Now I've seen it all!

Wow, you are twisted. I report here about a pro-Hillary bobo (Moore) rattling the Trump talisman to spook the herd and somehow that makes me an "apologist" or "supporter"?

I may be libertarian/conservative, but even that said, the political POV xenophobia runs deep in you Rover (or may I call you Pauline Kael). :D

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

When they get trounced in two weeks there wont be anyone at Faux outside of Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity (and maybe that Bolling dude who looks like a date rapist) who will be surprised and saying it is rigged. Then they (Dobbs and the Drumpgfers) will take their cushy job at Drumpf TV and will make millions ripping President Hillary.

I'm intrigued by your work on the "Trump TV" lineup.

- Howard Stern - mornings? Or is there some other morning possibility I'm missing?
- O'Reilly radio show -- Trump would have to convince him to resurrect radio
- Rush Limbaugh - noon to 3 eastern <-- just simulcast the radio
- Hannity - 3-6 eastern <-- just simulcast the radio
- Dobbs - 6-8 eastern
- O'Reilly - 8-9 eastern
- Hannity TV - 9-10 eastern
- "Buy Gold" infomercials from say midnight until Stern in the morning

My only question is this -- Can Trump buy out O'Reilly's contract at Fox to put him on between Stern and Limbaugh in the mornings and a TV show on at 8 eastern. ;)

PS - In that outlandish scenario triggered by Handy, Fox's ratings tank to MSNBC/CNN levels. Megyn Kelly won't keep that ship afloat without O'Reilly and Hannity (no matter how much Kep may tune in and turn down the volume).

LATE EDIT: I can't believe there's not a space for "Deplorable" Alex Jones in the Trump TV lineup. ;)

Here comes the blockade.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), however, is less concerned with appearances. The Washington Post reported yesterday:

Speaking to reporters after a campaign rally for a Republican U.S. Senate candidate here, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said that there was “precedent” for a Supreme Court with fewer than nine justices — appearing to suggest that the blockade on nominee Merrick Garland could last past the election.

“You know, I think there will be plenty of time for debate on that issue,” said Cruz, when he was asked whether a Republican-controlled Senate should hold votes on a President Hillary Clinton’s nominees. “There is certainly long historical precedent for a Supreme Court with fewer justices. I would note, just recently, that Justice Breyer observed that the vacancy is not impacting the ability of the court to do its job. That’s a debate that we are going to have.”

Keep in mind, after McCain’s comments, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) conceded that Republicans “can’t just simply stonewall” any Democratic nominee, just because he or she is a Democratic nominee. Yesterday, Cruz effectively responded, “Well, maybe we can.”

Remember when it was the American people who were going to decide by who they picked as President? Yeah, I don't remember that either.

Sic, you're fooling no one. The only reason why you're not declaring your full on love of Trump is because he's losing "bigly". Were he winning you'd be out here singing his praises! Its not my fault you subscribe to a dying ideology made up of old people. That's your fault. If the orange toupee fits, wear it! :D As well as the Trump apologist label. We're going to tag all of you with that anyway, so you might as well enjoy it.

Regarding Cruz and McCain's blockade, I can't get over how stupid the politics are here. They've now given cover to conservadems who might not go along with overturning the filibuster for SCOTUS nominees to go ahead and do just that under the guise of keeping the court functioning. Obviously this is the knuckledragger strategy all along, but you need not declare it publicly.

I was never fond of Trump: too much bravado and self-aggrandizement for me. However, I do know a lot of folks that are very pro-Trump ... for the exact reason that Michael Moore puts out there.

I'm sad (governors) Jindal or Walker didn't survive longer, but not Perry. I would've loved the show if it would've been Fiorina. You see now with the Cruz hijinx why I'm not there with him.

Honestly, I wish Bill Weld was the top of the Libertarian ticket. (Wow, did I just say something nice about a Massachusetts Republican?)

Fair enough, but I'll say this. A lot of righties out here would tolerate Trump, warts and all, if he was winning this race. That's not a good thing IMHO because given that almost all of us are college educated I'd like to think even a winning Trump campaign would disgust most educated conservatives enough to not support him.

And once again the backup (to the backup of the backup) QB is the most popular player on the team...

This is ridiculous. This board has no Trump supporters. There are a few bot-like posters who will pull the lever blindly for any "R," but even they are doing it for party, not for Orangutan Kim Jong-un.

There are small-l libertarian posters who identified with the Republicans until recently and would have gone with Gary Johnson if he wasn't presenting as Stoner Ben Carson.

Stop launching these bogus fusillades. Nobody here is defending Trump except for our cute botniks. Sicatoka and others are about as much supporters of Trump as I am.

Weld is telling everybody to vote for Anybody But Trump. :-)

After careful observation and reflection, I have come to believe that Donald Trump, if elected President of the United States, would not be able to stand up to this pressure and this criticism without becoming unhinged and unable to perform competently the duties of his office. […]

This is the worst of American politics. I fear for our cohesion as a nation, and for our place in the world, if this man who is unwilling to say he will abide by the result of our national election becomes our President.

This great nation has weathered policy differences throughout our history, and we will do so again. Not in my lifetime, though, has there been a candidate for President who actually makes me fear for the ultimate well-being of the country, a candidate who might in fact put at risk the solid foundation of America that allows us to endure even ill-advised policies and the normal ebb and flow of politics.

In the final days of this very close race, every citizen must be aware of the power and responsibility of each individual vote. This is not the time to cast a jocular or feel-good vote for a man whom you may have briefly found entertaining. Donald Trump should not, cannot, and must not be elected President of the United States.

He's the only Republican I've ever voted for, and judging by the open sewer the GOP has become probably the only one I will ever vote for.

Jindal and Walker destroyed the economies of their states. They have no redeeming value.

Kep with all due respect its long past time for you to get your head out of your rear-end on this issue. TRUMP IS THE PERFECT REPRESENTATIVE OF CONSERVATIVES!!!!

Nobody gives a fuk about or practices this fantasyland conservatism that you dream of from some long ago time where they weren't all insane. For the sake of board harmony I won't name names, but a good portion of our righty friends would be voting for Trump enthusiastically this election IF he was about to win. Zero people are professing their love right now because it looks like he's going down. You need to see the other side for what they are, not what you wish they would be. People with your attitude are the same ones in Congress we fume at for trying to reach across the aisle constantly only to get stabbed in the back every time.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Jindal and Walker destroyed the economies of their states. They have no redeeming value.

The path Wisconsin was on was unsustainable. The pubic pension plan was an unfunded time bomb. Walker tried to fix it when others were happy enough to let the clock run out (and have left the restaurant before the check came to the table). And Louisiana? How do you destroy something that never really existed.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

I HAVE heard (internet, so take it for what it's worth) both major parties will hang up if you declare you are not of their party, thereby going against the party that is calling, and therefore your "vote" is not registered in the polls.

It makes sense on the surface, but that is also in tinfoil territory.

That's because internal campaign polling is more focused on figuring out how to tailor their message to what people want. At least it is in the adult's case this election. I don't know, maybe 'bad hombre' and 'nasty woman' polled high too. But for example, Trump mocking the disabled reporter and Trump using Chinese steel got a lot of play from Hillary because it tested very high on internal polling.

Look, I know some on the Right are really desperate (like the ones posting crap like that on FB) and they want to convince people this isnt over so they cling to anything they can. .

That is ridiculous. These are rational, intelligent people that aren't going to stalk around the internet looking for some poll from a high school in the middle of nowhere with <1000 students to show that just maybe it's not over.

*continues reading up thread*

You know what? Nevermind.

Remember when it was the American people who were going to decide by who they picked as President? Yeah, I don't remember that either.

So, 2017: D holds the Senate 51-49, uses nuclear option
2018: R retakes Senate, Clinton sets record for most vetoes
2020: Clinton loses re-election because of vetoes, R hold government and controls during census taking

And we do this for another 20 years before the R's are ground under demographics in the 2030's.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

What could go wrong?

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes urged members of his fringe group to head to the polls on Election Day to make sure that the 2016 race is not “stolen” from American voters.

“Operation Sabot 2016” involves sending the current and former military and law enforcement members that make up the organization's membership to watch and videotape voters casting ballots in order to prevent any instances of “voter fraud.”

“We call on you to form up incognito intelligence gathering and crime spotting teams and go out into public on election day, dressed to blend in with the public, without any Oath Keepers hat or T shirt on, and with video, still camera, and notepad in hand, to look for and document suspected criminal vote fraud or intimidation activities,” Rhodes wrote on the group’s website.

Though Rhodes instructs poll watchers not to bear arms and to report any alleged instances of fraud to authorities rather than interfering, the group has a troubling track record of intervening in major political events.

Oath Keepers turned out in force during the 2014 standoff between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management, and armed members guarded white businesses in Ferguson, Missouri in the days following the fatal 2014 police shooting of Mike Brown.

I'm surprised he's not telling his f-ckwits to go armed.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Hey Hill-dawg lovers, you have a major Republican ally. And here's why.

Haha infowars...talk about Sheeple!! :D

Sica,

I am not a huge Moore guy anyways (though I respect his passion) but he is going loony over this election. When Bill Maher says Drumpf can win he is doing it pragmatically to make sure Liberals dont sit on their ***. Moore is full on Chicken Littling it. It is very strange...
