Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

A lot to unpack here...

1. This is definitely about to get ugly. I haven't seen this get a lot of mention, but during the second debate, everybody quotes Trump saying he never actually did the things he said he did on that tape. But what they miss is that Anderson Cooper first asked two times and Trump tries to deflect with a non-answer, and then finally the third time Cooper directly asks, Trump is forced into a corner and has to deny it, then changes the topic immediately. It's hard to look more guilty. Here's the full transcript:

COOPER: Just for the record, though, are you saying that what you said on that bus 11 years ago that you did not actually kiss women without consent or grope women without consent?

TRUMP: I have great respect for women. Nobody has more respect for women than I do.

COOPER: So, for the record, you’re saying you never did that?

TRUMP: I’ve said things that, frankly, you hear these things I said. And I was embarrassed by it. But I have tremendous respect for women.

COOPER: Have you ever done those things?

TRUMP: And women have respect for me. And I will tell you: No, I have not. And I will tell you that I’m going to make our country safe. We’re going to have borders in our country, which we don’t have now. People are pouring into our country, and they’re coming in from the Middle East and other places.

2. The problem with "uninformed people shouldn't vote" is that it always comes from the guy that believes Hillary should have been prosecuted because noted legal scholar Rudy Guiliani, and only Rudy Guiliani, took a hard, fair look at the case and determined so, and that Bernie got railroaded in the primaries because he read the headline of an article on MSN. And yet they never seem to put themselves in the uninformed category.

3.
Short of the two obvious connections (time spent in locker rooms and use of fame/wealth to land hot foreign chick) how in the world did Brady ever get mixed up with Trump?

They're both rich conservatives(and a-holes, if you're into the whole redundancy thing). Trump bragged that Brady was going to be his big star power speaker at the national convention, though Brady, realizing that was career suicide, wisely ended up declining. Trump ended up with Tim Tebow instead(and then Tebow got bumped because his selection was mocked so much).

4.
You know Trump is in trouble when:

1) Sicatoka has stopped defending him (even though he's an independent of course ;)) and
2) Scooby has stopped pimping his chances to win the election!

:D :D :D

This isn't necessary. Even if it is absolutely true and hilarious
.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Wonder if Bill and tD shared the same book?

In the interest of fairness, I'll say this. If any of the Trump accusers are getting paid to lob accusations at him, I'd dismiss the claims just as I hold any Clinton accusers up to the same standard.

That's kinda why the Bill Cosby stuff is so devastating. Once the like 50th accuser came forward about an incident 30 years prior, there's no money to be had or fame to be gotten.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

American's don't mind if you win big; but the also don't like it when you run up the score.

Folks, honestly, the media is now piling on Trump. Yup, he's a schmuck. But the American public only has so much stomach for piling on. Magically they find all of this in the last ten days? It's feeling orchestrated; it feels like running up the score.

Worse? If there's one over zealous, over stated claim, if Trump can legitimately refute one of the most recent allegations suddenly he has more than "they're against me!" rhetoric; he'll have what he dreams of - PROOF that the media is actively working against him.

Personally, the smartest thing Hillary could do right now is start talking as if she's in office now and only talk about Trump in defeated opponent terms. To keep hacking away looks like running up the score.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

I have noticed a lack of trump defending in here the last week. Shocking.

Are we finally gonna see the binders full of women that Mitt promised?? They'll just be binders full of trump victims

To be fair, our Cafe poll had no Trump votes last time which was before the debate and the tape.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

It's adorable that you're still trying, but I kind of doubt people voting for Trump out of pity is going to be what swings the election. Seriously, **** that guy. Keep showing what an awful, awful human being he is and by extension, how awful and hateful the people still supporting him are. Keep throwing it deep and then go for two every chance you get.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Clinton campaign officials really, seriously talked about infiltrating the Catholic Church and attempting to create a "Catholic Spring" uprising?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...oman-joking-about-catholics-and-evangelicals/

How soon they forget that since the dawn of the current era the most powerful espionage network mankind has known is the Catholic Church. Those with the human intelligence have the inside lane. You really don't want to mess with that organization. The old boys in beanies and red robes like their cushy, soft gig; try to screw that up and they come back at you (with the fervor of a religious zealot). Many have tried to take them down; you can read about all of them and their failures in the history books in the Vatican archives. ;)

I'm not voting for him; however, I heard a couple of ... Democrats ... say that they couldn't listen to the (their words) "piling on" at this point. That shocked me to the point that I had to buy another coffee. I'd say people are exhausted at the entire tenor of this campaign season.

Folks, honestly, the Billy Bush tape was the tipping point that decided this election.

BS, nobody minds seeing a bully get the snot beat out of him--especially when it's totally deserved. Having Trump's campaign go down in a humiliating ball of flame will be an unequivocal good for the country.

As a lapsed (well, never, really, though technically by birth) Catholic I would strongly advise every other human institution to steer clear of threatening it.

The only folks who work on a timescale longer than the Holy See, let alone the HRC* church as a whole, are the Chinese. The Democrats are 150 years old, the Catholic Church is 1550 years old. They will bury us all.

(* hmm... maybe the game's afoot)

Put down the bully, but don't go overboard and break your own hand (foot?) and find yourself exposed in the process. That's the point we're at is what I'm saying.

The best way to destroy Trump is to stick a needle in him on Monday and let his impotent rage carry the next 6 days of the news cycle. He is his own worst enemy. Let him consume himself.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

A.M. Rosenthal, the old executive editor of The New York Times, used to tell his young reporters:

“You can cover the circus, but you can’t sleep with the elephants!”

Thanks Howie!

If such a thing exists (and it doesnt...if it did then the piling on of Clinton for 30 years would have turned people off) we arent even close to the apex yet. The only people who think it looks manufactured are the ones HOPING it is.

As long as they've reached the age of consent, I can't see them being in any real danger.

Notice each has their own primary hemisphere with minor infiltration by the other. Detente. ;) :D

Yeah so when accusers come out and say he groped her the media should ignore it? Please...

Yup. The bully is down. He's flailing away on the ground at everything around him not knowing what it is. In the process he's punching the curb, the asphalt, himself, and even the few people trying to help him up (some of his own staff).

Nope. Not at all. But they'd better make sure they don't give Trump what he needs -- a false accuser to use to refute them all.

The Clintons have gotten 30 years of paper cuts on the fingers. A couple were deep and bled a bit.

The Billy Bush tape was a two-handed machete to the 'nads.
