Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

And spraypainting someone's house because they have a Trump sign in their yard isn't hate?

Never said it was right. I'm just not going to bemoan someone defacing a sign that represents hate.

Hypocritical? Maybe, probably.

Edit: wait, I thought someone had their signs defaced, not their house.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Well, I misread that. If it's because he's Jewish, that's obviously not ok.

You're still off base.

Going onto someone else's property and defacing anything that belongs to them is wrong and goes against what I would consider to be American values.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Yeah... swastikas on a Jewish person's home or property is hate, regardless of the "justification."

And Brent... we don't yet know what happened in NC.

It's entirely possible that it was done as a ruse.
I admit I am currently assuming it was anti-Trump/Dems/etc. If this turns out to be false, I will issue full apologies and eat crow.

And I'm kind of bothered by the "if it's because he's Jewish..." angle. Swastika graffiti is always wrong, no matter who the victim is.

Doesn't matter if he's Jewish. Stay off his property and leave his **** alone.

The possible Jewish part of the equation is what would potentially make it hate.

It's still hate. Just a different kind of hate.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Well, if you associate yourself with a known racist who won't disavow a former grand wizard, you're going to **** some people off.

It's not ok. But it's also not a hate crime if it's because he's a trump fan.

I only said possible.

I'm just trying to think of a precedent of violent (and motivated) Dems/Liberals.

I certainly don't know any. Most seem to be pacifists and would rather beat you down with the superior intellect than a bat.

There is precedent for violence in the Trump supporter camp and conservatives in general - see abortion clinics.

And anti Nazi's? Is that an organized thing?

We'll see.

I hear ya. Given this election, ANYthing is possible. So bizarre. And of course it's in the South, where there is a reputation of using extreme measures to get a point across.

I'm still trying to process some thought processes on the vandalism. I really can't believe what I am reading.....

Stop digging.

It's understandable that someone might deface a sign, but you're justifying it in much the same way that you criticize Trump supporters for the false equivalencies that they use.

You know, I find it kind humorous in a dark way that right wingers are having their **** sprayed with swastikas instead of the other way around. Instead of it being a hate crime it's now a labeling of the haters.

Well, when you associate yourself and your campaign with David Duke and refuse to repudiate his message. Or when you use antisemitic rhetoric in your speeches.

****!

Been lurking only... why did I come in here?

I notice your clenched your sphincter and clutched your pearls but didn't tell me where I'm wrong.

So, legally, you are correct (political parties are not protected). Given your other posts, it does appear that you are not exactly condemning (and no, not approving, either, but are leaning that way in benefit of the doubt) the actions. Certain views do make people really mad, I agree. But vandalism and "hate crimes" (I despise that legal definition, btw) are still hate. Whether it's for a "just" cause or not.

The NC incident should be condemned 100%, the guilty parties prosecuted to the full extent, all that jazz. There is NO excuse for these actions.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

Right, because trump hasn't made any overtly racist remarks.

I said it was wrong to deface it. In no way is it right for someone to deface property.

I'm not sure where the false equivalency is that you're referring to.

No one is denying Trump has made those remarks. Your lack of full condemnation (and implying that it's a rational response) of the NC thing...that is what is bothersome. You have said "it's not ok" but it was with a wink and a smile, so to speak.

You seemed in favor of the defacing despite it being vandalism and criminal trespassing...

Maybe I misunderstood those two posts? ^

Yeah... I don't think I did. I think you're backpedaling.

What the **** are you talking about? The fire bombing? Maybe you should read back to the first post after it.

JFC.

So....firebombing bad, but spray paint ok? Given your quoted posts that Gurt is re-hashing.....just saying.

No, you really are. I'm not back pedaling on anything. I never said I was condoning it. You are simply reading that into what I wrote to fit your own narrative.
