USA Today taking the temperature of the American public without asking "that" question:

Here are the top 10 fears of 2016:

Corruption of government officials (same top fear as 2015) — 60.6%
Terrorist attacks — 41%
Not having enough money for the future — 39.9%
Being a victim of terror — 38.5%
Government restrictions on firearms and ammunition — 38.5%
People I love dying — 38.1%
Economic or financial collapse — 37.5%
Identity theft — 37.1%
People I love becoming seriously ill — 35.9%
The Affordable Health Care Act/”Obamacare” — 35.5%

I'd say Trump had similar polling info because he seems to constantly bang on 1, 2, 3 (jobs), 4, 5, 7, and 10.

"Secularized Christian" is an oxymoron.
To be Christian means to live a life in and for Christ, not just part of a life, but a life*.

But to your point of Hillary being a "secularized Christian", or more precisely, "secularized", yeah, she's secular, and that's why I said it was a toss-up between her and Trump.

*Full disclosure: I ain't very good at that.

I know this isn't the religious thread- but there's so much religion in politics.

By that pretty sharp definition of being a Christian, you just eliminated at least half the people in the US who call themselves Christian. Including me. Thanks.

All we need is a religious war determining who are real Christians or not.

No, it's not.
Bush - Major Legislation

Iraq War - Not Conservative.
Medicare Prescription Part D - Not Conservative
No Child Left Behind - Not Conservative
Tax Cuts - Not Conservative

Obama - Major Legislation

Obamacare - Conservative

It's not even close.

Scoobs, you're certifiably insane. Please report to the nearest puzzle house immediately.

Iraq War and Tax cuts for billionaires = Not conservative. Enough said.

And you can't separate today's society from Christianity. Society norms were greatly informed and largely founded on new testament concepts of compassion.

I believe Rover was talking about the part that Obama was more conservative than Bush.

Indeed I was. The problem with Scoobs is that people on the Trump campaign are getting paid to say dumb things. To my knowledge Scooby is being an idiot for free!

Obama more conservative than W? Ooookaaayyyyyyyy.....

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXI: Do you love farce? My fault, I fear.

The Democrats could not have created anything better than Trump to implode their only real opposition party. Or did they. Either way, no matter.

Welcome to America's version of one-party rule. Works great for some ...

I know some liberals would disagree. But opposition to any single party is valuable for decent governance. And frankly incompetent opposition is probably still better than no opposition.

But have no fear, the GOP isn't going anywhere. If the GOP was destroyable, it would have been gone after 2008.

Big "c" conservative (philosophically) or big "C" conservative (politically), that is the question I'd ask of tScoob.

And as well, Clinton is far more conservative than Trump (who wants to make wholesale changes to health care, taxes, immigration, the constitution itself, treaties, trade deals, foreign policy, prostitution, gambling, age of consent, common decency, you name it). But try telling that to some of the die-hard Republican "conservatives" around here.

Good Lord...remember when SNL showed Hillary having a dance party over the Drumpf video? They really are having a party cause that is made out of pure joy!

Trump is about as conservative as, well, ... Rover or Kep. ;)

You need to use your brain once in a while. Shut off partisan mode and think.

There is nothing conservative about attacking a country without justification.
There is nothing conservative about trickle down economic theory. Especially after we had the data from the Reagan years.
There is nothing conservative about No Child Left Behind. Nothing.
There is nothing conservative about Medicare Prescription Part D.

Rush Limbaugh may have convinced millions of mindless automatons that it's conservative but it's NOT. Is it inherently Republican? Yes. What Scott Walker did to Wisconsin, Brownback did to Kansas, GW Bush did to America is all Republican ideals. But it is NOT conservative.

Now look at Obama. Obama has had a steady, slow, sure handedness to everything he's done. Measured in his approach. That, whether you like it or not, is conservative.

The only thing that makes Republicans conservative is social issues. That's it. And that teeter totter has flung them into space.
