Campaign 2016 Part XVIII: I'm OK, You're Deplorable

I agree with getting rid of illegals, no matter what country they come from.
I agree that politics has to change, and become free from outside business influence.

Basic ideas. What Trump's solutions are, they scare me.

You do realize that pretty much anyone with a clue about economics thinks deporting all undocumented workers is not a good idea? Even if it were feasible it would have a negative effect on the economy.

It's a terrible idea. Terrible in so many ways.

There are plenty of good reasons to dislike Hillary. Just because they pale in comparison to the catastrophic faults in Trump doesn't mean that they don't exist.

So it would be really easy to post one of them, right?

The reason I wonder if they actually exist is that nobody really posts a solid one. One that dates back when the Hate Hillary group got going back in the 90's. Which is when the target got put on her so tightly that anything she did that appeared to be wrong was amplified to a massive degree.

I agree that politics has to change, and become free from outside business influence.

What, specifically, is wrong with politics? And I mean very specifically.

Which law was influenced so much by an outside business that broke the camel's back? Not to say that both parties are not into getting opinions from the louder voices, but which laws are the ones that have been the most dangerous?

Right now, my leaders are the ones that de-regulated wall street and the banking system so much that we are all living on a high wire where someone could have a bad bowel movement and crash the banking industry. And most of that can be traced to one party.

As for the illegals- are you actually doing your part to not pay most of them? As in getting high cost locally produced food? It's the cheap labor that our food system "requires" that draws a majority of them. Cheap labor that our unemployed don't want to do.

So now Priebus apparently is threatening GOPers with penalties if they dont endorse Drumpf.

The GOP needs to fix this...you cant have the chairman out and out bullying members of the party out in view of the public like that. It only makes them look more like a fascist entity.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVIII: I'm OK, You're Deplorable

Keep backtracking.

All politicians in the two major parties rely on some form of big business. You can deny that all you want, but you are lying to yourself. This year, to tell the truth, Trump IS big business. Hillary just relies on them, as a standard politician does in this day and age.

This is why Trump is still in the race and could likely win.

They signed the pledge. That's it. That pledge will be tattooed to all of them and all of their political career for the rest of their lives.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XVIII: I'm OK, You're Deplorable

And on the "deport the illegals" idea, lets say for arguments sake it was feasible. So tomorrow we find out we have the money and manpower to find all the illegals, round them up and send them home. What are you going to do about the (GOP coined term) Anchor Babies? What about the kids that, by all rights, are American Citizens because they were born here? Cant deport them so what we force them into the foster system? Do we change the law cause I mean, that wont look racist at all...

It is a cool talking point, but 5 minutes of research can show you all the issues with the idea.

Priebus better hope Drumpf wins because if he doesnt his days are numbered. Kasich has already said he wont be bullied, and we know Jeb and Cruz will cut him off at the knees if this doesnt work. I mean at least the Dems did this behind closed doors Priebus is acting like Himmler out there...

After they build the wall they're going to have to repeal and retract birthright citizenship. Otherwise it doesn't work.

yep. Only way it can happen. I think it can be done legislatively rather than through the amendment process.

Then some liberal state will pass legislation that anyone born in that state can get all the bennies that citizens can get, regardless of the citizenship of the parents.

To be fair, WaPo (the most legit looking site of my Google search) has a write up about the "Anchor Babies."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-myth-of-the-anchor-baby-deportation-defense/

It appears that yes, they can be "deported" in the sense that these babies are full fledged American citizens now living in Mexico with their family. Having an "Anchor Baby" to stay in the US is a terrible falsehood.

You don't think car sales are an indicator of the economy? She and sitting Pres are in the same party. I'd be surprised if that doesn't stick if the trend continues downward

I wondered why when I talked the Audi, Mercedes, and Jaguar dealers last week (looking to upgrade my current Jaguar) I was given all the time in the world to ask questions .... on the phone. (Car dealers never want to talk to you on the phone. They want you there with new paint making you all star-struck.)

Folks, I believe we are exactly where we were before the 2008 election. The economy (macro, micro) is paralyzed because it has no idea of what is coming next.

I think that's right based on what I see, hear, and have read. Once the election is over it will pick up again.
