I love Paul Ryan's response to Trump's interviews. Ryan said, "These comments are out of left field."

No, Paul, they're not. They are right from the pitcher. He's been making these comments the entire campaign. Own it or leave it.

You do know that's a satirical story, right?

Horner continued, “It was mostly women in their 60’s at the interview that I went to. Plus, all the people that I communicated with had an AOL email address. No one still has an AOL email address except people that would vote for Hillary Clinton.”

“I knew those weren’t real protesters, they were too organized and smart,” said 59-year-old Tom Downey, a Trump supporter who attended the rally in Fountain Hills. “I knew there was something up when they started shouting all these facts and nonsense like that. The best we could do was just yell and punch em’ and stuff.”

David Mikkelson, founder of Snopes, a website known for giving biased opinions of stories on the internet in order to generate advertising revenue, told ABC News that he approves of what a story like this is accomplishing.

“You have to understand that when a story like this goes viral, and we spend a minute or two debunking it, we make lots of money. Stories like this have helped put my children through college, buy a new car, a home and even get the Silverback gorilla my wife Barbara always wanted” Mikkleson laughs, “We claim ‘to provide evidence for such debunkings and confirmation as well‘, but that’s just ridiculous. Do you know how much time that would take?

Apparently McConnell spent Sunday dodging questions about Trump's overt appeal to racists and wound up looking like Rubio repeating the same thing 3 or 4 times within a few minutes. It was not pretty.

The GOP is like an engine that has thrown a rod and is now destroying itself from the inside.

Not exactly relevant for the campaign but still awesome:

John Oliver Buys $15 million in Debt and Forgives it

I believe a lot of this debt is debt that has already been written off and sold for pennies on the dollar to a collection agency. There are charity drives that sprung forth from the Occupy Wall Street days that do the same thing.

Also, depending on the circumstances this can legally count as earned income for the debtor, so they're liable to receive a whopper of a tax bill.

At the end of the day, if it stops some poor schmuck from being harassed by collection calls from some fly-by-night agency and lets him start repairing his credit, good form.

It's the same concept - claim there are altruistic reasons while hiding behind an agenda. Keep denying, Sparky.
Jeez, I hesitate to let you keep digging. At this rate you'll be back on U.S. soil before you planned.

What exactly is my hidden agenda? In fact what altruistic reasons have I claimed?

I've stated my opinion that I think the argument people have been disenfranchised because they can't get away from work is a bunch of hooey. People aren't voting because they are apathetic. Certainly as a Minnesota hockey fan you are familiar with that concept, no?

My impression is he is not accusing you of hypocrisy. He is saying the GOP uses an altruistic cover story as a fig leaf to hide their cynical machinations.

Which would make them a political party. :p

People sometimes fall for the cover story, but they're not hypocrites; they're just credulous. So, for example, politicians raise the spectre of sexual predators to justify their opposition to trans legislation. Their real reason is they're appealing to the core fears and prejudices of their base, but you can't write a law based on that, so they cast around for an excuse and come up with one that makes them sound like the good guys, where is reality they're just craven opportunists.

Which would make them politicians. :p

No doubt he may strike this pose. But then he shouldn't have responded to not one, but two of my posts suggesting a hidden agenda.

That's exactly what it was. The entire video is great, actually.

Pretty cheap way to help people, relatively. $15 million in debt is now gone for just $60k.

Yeah and it was medical debt which made it even better :)

Hate to admit it, but I was fooled for about the first 15 seconds. That's a very clever click-bait site there.

While the ABCNews.com part seemed legit, the .co after .com was the red flag to me.

Lots of spam sites trying to imitate legit news corps, but because of the offshore domain names (and likely offshore web hosting), they're hard to stop.
