So I'm justified to hate the southern states because my great-great uncle was killed at Antietam...
No, that's Kepler.

But seriously, if G-G-U was a soldier, no. If G-G-U was a farmer but was executed for being on the wrong side, yes.

40 something. But the fact that grandpa (great grandpa?) was shot by the revolution is a factor.

I can respect that. Obviously the people who supported Castro had similar stories about the prior regime, but an eye for an eye is bad public policy.

No, that's Kepler.

My great-great uncles were dirt farming in Austria-Hungary, cod fishing in Bergenshalvøyen, or complaining about the heat in Campania when those guys went at it. Not my fight.

Why does that matter? He was defending this country. They are a bunch of ****ing traitors.

To be honest I hope the birthers find a way to disqualify them both. The irony would be delicious.

The boomerang is funny -- the GOP has dutch-ovened themselves yet again -- but it's best for us all to drown these loons in the East River along with the rest of the WND crew. We don't need months of the usual eejits screaming "where's the birth certificate?!?" while the important issues are ignored by candidates and media alike. Cruz is a creep and Rubio is a giant step backwards for the country, but let's have them crash and burn on their ideas rather than something this dumb.

It would be great if the rest of the GOP field stood up and said "enough of this," the way McCain put the "Obama's a Muslim" nutbars in their place in 2008.

Rand Paul had pictures of a bunch of supporters on his website...well...maybe not...

I'd rather them all keep their mouths shut and let it fester. McCain in '08 may have put some in their place but for a large contingent it mattered not.

You would think campaigns would be smarter nowadays. In this social media age you cannot pull this crap anymore.

LOL. And with his problems it would be Germans. I assumed he just did what most Republicans do and photoshopped in some blacks and women.

This is a dumb question: how do they catch them? Other than something completely inane like leaving meta-data bread crumbs, is there a way to take an image and "search" for matches? I know they can now do this with sound clips (which blows my mind) and of course text, but images?

Right click on an image and you can reverse search almost any picture. Tineye is another site...last I saw had over 11,000,000,000 images cataloged.

Priceless covered it. Bottom line is you have to be a moron to reuse pictures nowadays.

Wow. I assumed people who knew what they were doing could strip all that info out.

You can strip all the info out, but reverse image search utilizes Google and searches for the image. With tineye even altering the image (making it darker, lighter, cropping etc) isn't enough because it will search for similar images.

Yeah - it's not searching the metadata, it's actually matching the pixels (or statistics related to the pixels) themselves. If you alter the pixels enough to fool the algorithm, it would definitely be noticeable to human observers, too.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

I was amused by the cartoon as well but there is one thing whiny libs like daily kos keep bringing up that needs mentioning.

Clinton, like countless other Dems, was duped into voting for the Iraq war by doctored intelligence and lies. When you're being told a homicidal dictator, which Hussein was, is about to acquire nukes if we don't do something now, backed up by CIA reports and more respected people like Colin Powell, no s#!t a lot of Dems voted for it. People like Fienstein, Carper, Dodd, Rockefeller and Cantwell also supported it. I don't hold the people who were conned as responsible as the people doing the conning however. Its like blaming Madoff's victims for the fraud as much as him.

Wellstone didn't fall for it.
