Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Libertarian ("Taxation is theft!"): Rand, Ryan

Kepler, did you just call Paul ryan a libertarian? The guy's got a 13% rating from the ACLU! Rolling Stone did a great profile of Paul Ryan right after RMoney mde him his running mate. Hint: he's another uber-christiian Bush puppet.
I low rating from the ACLU doesn't necessarily mean much of anything. They pick and choose the libertarian issues they stand up for or don't, with a strong liberal tilt to what they take up.

ROTFLMAO

Too Funny.

I don't spend too much time with loonitarians, but regardless of the ACLU's political leanings I find it hard to believe that true libertarianism is okay with laws forcing women to have their rapists child or legalizing discrimination, as long as its done on a state or local level. That is why Paul, Ryan, etc are frauds. Their supposed live and let live creed goes out the window when it comes to social issue legislation. Rand Paul should be the biggest proponent of gay marriage out there (free to marry who you want) not some weasely "its up to the states" stance.

There's always been a split between two groups of big 'L' Libertarians: folks who want states rights so the south can go back to lynching blacks, and folks who want smaller government period, at every level. It's pretty easy to distinguish them -- just look at the CV.

That Politico article had an amazing quotation in it:

For reasons that are not pretty, nominating Clinton could stanch the flow of white seniors and white working-class voters, particularly men, away from the Democratic Party. “She’s white,” one national Democratic strategist says simply. “That’s going to make it easier for her in some places. The reality is race is still an issue in our society. We certainly see that in the way people vote.” Another party operative, a veteran of several presidential campaigns, was even more emphatic: “The race thing cannot be overstated. It’s like a shark. It’s so close to the surface in some places that you can see its fin.”

Wow. Talk about a cut right to the bone.

Our long national nightmare begins.

For some time now, the speculation has been less "will Hillary Clinton run for president" and more "when will she announce she's running for president," but—assuming the reports are correct—the wait for an answer for the latter question is pretty much over, and the answer is Sunday.

There a line in the Comments that sums it up perfectly:

Trying not to lose to nobody

Either Warren comes to Iowa or this is going to be the most depressing election cycle since, well, since all the ones we've lost.

Yes, because you wrote it! Its not cool to quote yourself from other websites Kep. ;)

Believe it or not, there are other Democrats out there besides me who aren't enamored of Madame Defarge.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Will the same scrutiny be applied to Mme. DeFarge?

Shirley, you jest?

HRC is going to be so under the microscope we'll know her phosphodiester bonds by heart by the time this is through.

But will they live to tell the tale? You can't call me Shirley, but you can call me Al!

What don't we already know? We know she flew a fighter jet to Benghazi to personally bomb the embassy and kill those Americans; she plotted global domination on her email then conveniently deleted it; she's a mentally deranged loon who should be locked up for her own safety...what more do we need to know?

You conveniently forgot her sorcery. Part of the circle, eh? Surprised I haven't seen you at Monday Coven.

At least she can't get 666 Electoral Votes.

Today's trivia - who was the Republican VP candidate in 1948?

'48 huh? Without looking, I'll guess Taft or LaFollette???

Earl Warren, I think. Most people couldn't even name the nominee himself, I suspect.

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Give the man a prize! The nominee is famous only because of the newspaper headline.

Pretty much. I had to think about it for a second myself before having the "ah yes, you idiot" moment.
