Re: Campaign 2016 - A Trump l'oeil? Kepler's Laws of Election Motions? Ship of Fools

My thoughts:

1) Does anybody else find Kep slobbering over Megyn Kelly to be a little creepy? Not "Level 3 Offender moved in next door" creepy but more like "Weird Guy Sitting Too Close on Subway" creepy. :D ;)

2) XYZ, leave me out of it. I stuck up for Joe and almost got kicked out of my Marxist-Leninist society because of it.

3) Trump isn't as stupid as he looks. Beyond what mookie and I mentioned about its a good idea to not have too much detailed policy despite lamestream media bleatings, he's also following a more overt but otherwise similar strategy as EVERY GOP nominee for eons, which is maximize the White Vote. The thinking is by the "serious people" in the GOP is that given whities will be 70% of the electorate next year more or less, get up to 70% of the 70% and you're there. Mittens hit about 61% I think. Allegedly there's all these super conservative caucausians out there who just don't vote because the Republicans aren't conservative enough.

Now this strategy has a fatal flaw as Romney and team discovered, which is white voters don't vote uniformly in the same % state by state like minorities due (with the possibly exception of Florida Hispanics due to elderly Cubans). So, had Michigan and Ohio whities voted like their Alabama or West Virginia brothers, he'd be all set. Problem is they don't, hence the electoral a sskicking he received.

But, the assumption must be angering Hispanics will alienate few potential Hispanic-Trump voters, but will drive out a whole bunch of others. Expect a lot more where this came from, and I think his polls #'s will continue to rise post univision dust up.

I've already admitted nobody is as creeped out by it as I. But the heart wants what it wants.

59.

But here's the BIG PROBLEM. 2 points' slippage in every presidential election. That's what's behind voter suppression from the GOP mainstream and removal of birthright citizenship from the GOP radicals. The only way for them to keep winning with their current policies and rhetoric is to keep the electorate white. And, apparently, old.

It would be interesting to know what the demographic effects of abortion have been on the electorate. Assuming liberals get the lion's share of abortions (not counting the hushed up ones that the fifteen year old daughters of Republican politicians get), the last 40 years have witnessed liberals hamstringing ourselves by holding our numbers down. Abortion may be the single best thing that ever happened to the GOP. If a truly effective male pill ever hits the market, hillbillies are just as UNINTERESTED in supporting baby momma drama as hipsters, and that advantage will evaporate overnight. The GOP should really be trying to wipe out medical research in... oh. Never mind.

Laddie. Don't you think you should rephrase that?

Why? You may be fooled into thinking she isnt a vapid blackhole of suck filled by whatever her corporate masters tell her to say but I am not. That is why she railed against most rights for pregnant women until she got knocked up her self. Then all of a sudden she was a "crusader"

She is a fraud just like everyone else on that network. The only difference is guys drool over her. If it was O'Reilly or Greta Van Susteren saying the stuff she says (and you will notice they often do) no one would be patting them on the back.

I'm not arguing with any of that. I'm just saying she's hot.

Romney's campaign assumed not only a halt to that 2% gain per election for minorities, he actually forecast it to backslide 2%! Hence his surprise come election night.

So basically they polled the 5 Hispanics that vote GOP, and 1 was in favor of Trump and the other 4 weren't? :D

They actually couldn't find any, so they just polled the five guys planting the flowers outside Gallup HQ. The 4 crew guys didn't like him, but the foreman liked what he had to say about Asians...

My guess is The Donald is disappointed 24+% of hispanics found something to like about him.

I'm sure he'll fix that real quick!

Another aspect not covered here is the millions of dollars people like Cruz, Walker, Kasich, etc will have to spend just to get their names out there. Bush has to spend millions to try to convice people he's not his brother. He should just switch to using his wife's maiden name. ;)

Trump? Universal name recognition before he spends a dime. The longer he hangs around, the more the rest of them have to spend just to be able to come up for air over the din of media coverage of The Donald.

Yup...the GOP is going to be a War of Attrition and it is going to cost them just like it cost Romney in 2012.

There are plenty of hot people, I prefer them to have a brain.

That's why I find Rachel Maddow hot--even though she plays on the other side of the court.

Well, near hot.

I don't find either of them attractive. I like Rachel as a human being though. Every time Megyn opens her mouth I want to throw a brick at the TV.
