Bye Week vs. SCSU

Re: Bye Week vs. SCSU

$20 says Kael Mouillerat dives face-first into Marvin's elbow in a week.

Marvin's hit on Genoway = Dirty and cause for suspension

Marvin's hit on Blake = Everyone and their mom overreacting

Honestly, if that had been Raboin laying the hit on Geoffrion, nobody would've said squat. Wait, Raboin couldn't have laid that hit on him... he'd already been taken out of the game.

And if Roe had put his head down and taken that same hit from a Badger, the whole WCHA nation would've screamed "DIVE!" :D

Re: Bye Week vs. SCSU

I feel bad Geoffrion is out this weekend with headaches but maybe it was just payback for Festler missing Saturday's game with headaches from hits in Friday's game.

Re: Bye Week vs. SCSU

wow are you serious or a moron??? Geoffrion had his head down and turned into the hit.. If he wouldn't have turned into the hit Marvin would have hit his body. you have had every chance to be realistic. but as with Genoway, you went for moron. It's your MO.
I'm a well-known moron, and I'm serious. And - like some SCSU fans, you are colorblind. The guy turning hard left from the blind side and slamming his shoulder into someone's skull is wearing black/red. Hard hit? Sure. Clean? Debatable. Becoming Marvin's signature move against top players? Pretty obvious.

Reading your post defending it is silly, but fun.

Re: Bye Week vs. SCSU

Not a very good article by Kevin A. today in the times. He usually does a great job and this one was spotty at best. I think Kevin needs to write a piece with his opinion's on the hit, not what some writer in Madison or on USCHO thinks.

Also, If you read Eaves comments he doesn't come out and say he should be suspended. I think it is obvious by the new rule that their should have been a penalty called, but that doesn't mean he should be suspended. Here is Eaves comments.

“Well, the league has a protocol, and they’re going through that protocol right now, even as we speak, to review it, to look at it, and then to make a decision whether or not they need to take action. It has been a point of emphasis. And, quite frankly, in the old days, there wouldn’t have been a penalty. Blake just got caught with his head down and got hit. But with the rules the way they are and the emphasis the way, I mean, we were told before the game that hitting the goaltender, hits to the head were going to be a point of emphasis, and Blake got hit to the head and nothing was called. I know the league is looking at it right now, and I’m sure before Wednesday we’ll find out if they’re going to do anything about it or not.”

Raboin fell against the boards, the UW player who was there barely touched him. It was a pretty harmless play. Motzko himself said that after the game. Go back into the "Badger hunting" thread and find it if you don't recall he said that.

You see color all too well. If a UND player had done what Marvin did, which was finish off a clean check against some moron who put his head down, you'd be defending him to the death.

Right, and just like Raboin caused himself to get hurt, so did Blake. Tada! Issue solved.

During the Sioux goon years, there weren't too many fake halos. All different now. This "Marvin is just a good boy who does bad things" crap gets my fingers typing.

(best player on UW is a 'moron'? Tells me plenty about your opinion)

If you think he is the best Wisconsin player that tells me how little you know about hockey.....

Re: Bye Week vs. SCSU

Yeah...LaPoint and McWilliam are skill players. :p

Derrick Lapoint's stats:
2 goals 12 assists 14 points. 5 penalties - 10 minutes

SCSU D-Men other than Garrett Raboin, who isn't a goon:
Sam Zabkowitz: 0 goals 12 assists 12 points. 10 penalties - 20 minutes
Oliver Lauridsen: 6 goals 5 assists 11 points. 19 penalties - 46 minutes
Craig Gaudet: 3 goals 7 assists 10 points. 8 penalties - 16 minutes
Taylor Johnson: 2 goals 8 assists 10 points. 10 penalties - 28 minutes
Chris Hepp: 0 goals 1 assists 1 point. 36 penalties - 94 minutes

Outside of Hepp, none of them are goons either.:D Every team needs at least one goon to protect their players. Hepp is that guy for us.

I don't disagree, I'm just pointing out stats. Derrick Lapointe is the least goonish of any Sioux d-men.

From the program I bought at the Saturday game last week, Blake Geoffrion thought Madison was Wisconsin's largest city. He also said the Wisconsin bird is "the cockatoo-dle or an eagle." Yes, I think he's a moron. At least he's not Ben Street, who thought Wisconsin was founded in 1957. :D

In all truth, I called him a moron because he's 22, plays in the WCHA, and doesn't know enough to keep his head up. Especially with a headhunter like Marvin on the ice. :D
