This will actually be tough for me.

I'm not sure if people have picked up on it, but I can't stand the Gophers. That said, I might actually hate Michigan more - due in large part to the time when they had a football team.

When they play each other, I honestly can't root for either and take no joy in the outcome regardless of who wins.

WCHA conference play off to a great start.

Every WCHA team is still undefeated in conference play except for the Goofers. :)

I'm finding myself strangely sympathetic to the gopher fans' excitement this year. They have a lot to be excited about, and it will really be interesting to see how good that team can be. Most of us who have had to deal with a long history of gopher-hate sydrome feel regret at the passing of the "old" WCHA, and seeing a very strong UMinn team seems fitting. A powerful Tech team would be even more of a treat. As long as the Sioux come out on top in the end, seeing Tech win the McNaughton would be just fine. The gophers can even come in second if it helps their self esteem. They will get their hearts ripped out in the end anyway.
